I posted it to get as many people on the server as possible, for mapping, i use my own wit, and the help of people i ask... If you REALLY want to voice your oppinion on my mapping, then come and talk to me. And if your making a valid point, then i may add it, but mostly people just repeat what already has been told to me. Which is annoying, imagine your coming home from school and you know your going to wash your room, then as soon as you come home your dad, tells you to wash it, then your mother meets you half way up the stairs and repeats what your dad just told you, and you were about to do. and if you multiply that by 10 thats how it was today, with people saying this and that. So... Now you know ;)

but i was the first guy to post feeback here, and still think you should have made it clearer what your intentions where. if i put it like you: i am your father...

I have to wait until tomorrow, then i can join your TS and server if RR still hosts it.

as long as i can get a password....

Right now im just reedoing some lightning stuff, takes like 30 sec.

Hopefully i have removed the "black" spots, and the floating trees.

I dont think i will be able to add new roads today, but maaaybe :P

Then its a new testing version.

Then im going to expand the current hedgerows and "fields"
Terrain and rocks
And the villages

Thats my to do list for now.

Will be alot longer

sounds good, keep up the good work

the map gave a great feeling while playing, he huge areas and hills... can't wait to play the finished version while driving a IVECO

WHO MOVED MY MAP!

Anyway, stand by for update. :)

I think it will be quite weird for you guys, but for me this is a serious milepole. Id say, i have 4 months left, and then another 2 of fixing everything. But im aiming for 4 months on this 4k map, since it is so large. I have decided on making half of it, with trees and stuff etc.

And the other half filled with barren land and rocks etc. Just to test it out. If its shiiiite i will ofc make more trees and stuff. But if not, we will have a more interesting map id say.

Tip: just listen to what people say when they give you constructive critizism. No matter what it's about. If it's something that can be changed later, you can change it later. But all little details are important if you want your map just right. It's the little things that make or break the immersion. Like the dead/living vegetation right next to each other. Someone might just stop and notice it in-game, and then the immersion's been ruined. People just want to help out, that's all.
When I'm modelling, I like to hear what I can improve, or what I've simply done wrong. That way, I can make it just that little bit better. Even though I might have spent hours trying to make something, and then get told there was no point.

Oh, and the map looks ace so far, if I haven't told you already! :)

Thought of new Afghan projects? I'd very much like to see an Afghani snow/mud/rock/dirt map, or one with huge, huge poppy fields like those in that picture posted earlier in the thread. Would be a nice change from just desert (especially if it was a 4 km map *hint hint*) ;)

its not that i dont like constructive critizism, its a problem when you hear it from 10 + people in a week it can get frustrating.

And, well i was thinking of escalating the war in kosovo. You know, Norwegians fought there too!

I'd suggest making one or more Afghanistan maps to begin with, so at least teh Norwejunz have a set of base maps, based around the ISAF stuff, then we can think about expanding from there.
