Have fun spending your whole game time telling people to shut the hell up.

Seriously Ive seen 26 people using mumble all just sit there in the game typing "shut up on mumble" blah blah for 2 hours while my squad are going... "LOL....fail" and we use VOIP fine.

Mumble is great and its a great idea and i know its not a final version just saying i wouldn't use it IMO until things get fixed.

unless you in a server that REQUIRES Mumble, its a pointless system. Either you will always be the only on in the Mumble, or everyone else in Mumble will be on the opposing team. with so few people useing it, your better off typing anyway.

A lot of times, a clan mate and I will hop into a server and create 2 different infantry squads. Boom! We now have 12 guys working together in a "platoon" size movement with the SQ leaders in direct communication. Yeah it would be nice if the grunts were in Mumble too but you can get a lot accomplished with just 2 SQ leaders utilizing Mumble.

On some servers, like Tactical Gamer this morning, you don't even need a clan mate for Mumble to be effective. =FDS= Ica(Fin) and I were the only ones in Mumble and we were able to communicate effectively enough to have a 6 man infantry and a 2 man Hummer squad support each other on Sunset City. I wasn't even the squad leader of the infantry squad but I was able to let him know that we had hummer support from another squad. We won 21-0.

Ignore this , clearly a guy who hasn't a) set it up right b) can't work all the key binding features or c) is afraid of change.

lawl at you guys!

I remember one of my first rounds with mumble, i was on UKWF, we actually made 2 platoons, on baracudda as Americans... And most of the players were on mumble! Twas epic. The firefights, the teamwork. The general feeling of being able to say to a blue dude... "maaaan this is /)(/=)(& epic!" And he'll go like "Who the )(/%% are you?!"

Also, on RT, ive had alot of good games, and the only thing that actually ruins gameplay, is noobs, retards, and people that dont use teamplay. Good thing though, instead of being blocked by that large wall of muted text, you can walk up to these people, and yell the **** on them for being rtetards, which i do whenever possible. So if you wanna use mumble, you better act up soldier! Or im gonna find you and bite your *** off!

Mumble is great because A) Everyone can talk togheter B) you can yell at every noob C) Very easy to give orders to other squadleaders, blue people! D) And it really is nice, when your squad has been killed, your the only one alive, to have a blue squad near you, and just follow them, until your squad arrives.

Well there are alot more good reasons to use Mumble, like me using it and i have a sexy voice. But you cant really explain how great something is, you need to excperience it, so GO OUT THERE AND EXCPERIENCE SOLDIER!

See you on the mumble battlefield! Or stay in bed!

Or here for even more info :

Reality Teamwork Mumble Guide

It would be great if the PR mumble guide could have a bit of an update, with maybe some troubleshooting tips, and some guidelines on mumble etiquette. Feel free to cut and paste any bits you want, but the main thing we want to do it make installing and using mumble, as easy as possible for all newcomers.

The one time that my Mumble did work properly, I was playing Korengal as USA. My squad hit resistance on a hike up the west side of the map, and I ran over to ask for support fron another squad takeing a different path up the hill. The SL did have Mumble and confirmed he got the info, but the whole squad kept right on going.

Every time I've played since then, on any server, Mumble has either not worked properly or I've been the only one there. I've since quit using Mumble entirely, its more trouble then its worth.

tactical gamer or reality teamwork are the only two servers that reliably have enough good players and mumble users to warrant use of the program |(ignoring 10th Mountain's private mumble server). UKWF sometimes have enough as well. For now at least. A great many people seem to have the program but only load it up when joining Reality Teamwork or when people ingame mention they are using it.

Remember chaps...you can see how many mumblers are on each server before you join.

And having a second monitor to see who is talking or who joins the channel mid-game is very nice although not necessarily needed.

Just yesterday I had a good Mumble experience on the *NwA* UK Insurgency server. There were only two guys in Mumble, [LnD] Sniperhid and myself. Mind you we were both squad leaders which is preferred when there are only two players in Mumble. We started off as Insurgents on Fallujah with about an hour left in the game. We made a successful last stand against the U.S. utilizing our two squads. My squad was the primary defenders/ distraction force while his squad was utilized to flank the enemy. A prime example was when I communicated to him that we were pinned down by a Marine with a PKM kit. I told him his location and within 30 seconds [LnD] Sniperhid moved in with his knife. We were suppressed no more. ;)

The second round was Karbala and were U.S. this time. He elected to make a mech inf (MECH INF) squad with 2 guys operating a stryker and the other 4 as infantry support for the stryker. I created a 5-man support squad (MUMB 1) with a .50 cal hummer and a logistics truck. The round started off beautifully. The first cache was in the far SE corner in the village west of the warehouse. With the the stryker providing overwatch and the .50 cal hummer providing rear security for the stryker, the 8 infantry moved in and got the cache easily. The next 2 caches proceeded to fall in similar fashion until the game server crashed after 30 min. unfortunately. :-x We were averaging one cache every ten minutes which kept our guys excited and willing to continue following orders. In fact, 2 guys in my squad ended up getting in Mumble after knowing the two squads were communicating using it.

Just another prime example of the power of Mumble. Mumble is great because the potential for team-wide coordination is so exciting. Thanks to [LnD] Sniperhid for willing to work together and runningman178 for being a great medic.
