Could you explain a little? From your screenshots the sigh only appears when you get close? If so its not a bug.

Just a culling error in the BF2 engine. Thank for the report but its a engine issue.

This is not a bug or engine error per say. This applies for all game engines that I know of.
As you probably have noticed is that you can always see a bit further if you don't look straight the way you want to look. This is down to how real time rasterized graphics works.
It is a culling side effect from using a viewing frustram that has a longer diagonal than the straight line from the camera to the max cull distance. If you want a detailed description I can draw up some quick sketches, but the point being: this is the case for all games, you just happened to notice it here
