Re: pre Jdam Jet sounds
I was 100% sure there is before reading this post. Why cant there be a jet bomber ambient sound just before a Jdam strike ?? to simulate a bomber flying over the battle area and droping the bomb.
You've made me only 99% sure there is by asking this question.
No, there is. Trust me. JDAM is called, no sound then after 30 seconds the jet is faintly heard, it builds, builds, builds.
"....wwwwWWWWWHHHHHHOOOOOOSHHHH KABLAMMMOOOOOO!!!"

There is a jet sound.
The video seems to have a way longer one.

I heard the JDAM jet coming when it was added to mod but shortly after that I dont hear it anymore. JDAM comes out of the blue for me.

Maybe you don't hear the jet approaching because your installation may be bugged. Or perhaps there is a known bug. But I always hear it.

The jet sound only comes after the hit to avoid people hearing it and guessing there's a JDAM incoming and running away.

Yeah and it's been like that since .7ish. Could be cool to have the ambient one before a strike, as it appears very quick compared to the old JDAM sounds.

On another note, those random ambient jets on Koregal must go. Who's with me?

Tbh I don't think it is far from realism either factoring in the speed of sound and altitude, plus experience I have heard.Expendable Grunt wrote:That's realistic

if the sound isn't connected to an ingame thing, e.g. offmap CAS support or something, I agree it should be removed

No, keep them.On another note, those random ambient jets on Koregal must go. Who's with me?
Yes they're annoying sometimes, but mostly they work to my advantage. Jet noise comes when I'm in firefight, I abuse the opportunity to get my sprint on, get my flank on.
Slighlty less intuitive enemy continues firing at my old location and promptly recieves a knife to the back of the head.
Ambient Jet sounds must stay.

Re: pre Jdam Jet sounds
Indeed, ambient jet noises are fantastic on Korengal. Besides adding (a fairly large) something to the atmosphere of it, they do provide a nice tactical option, be it using the noise cover for sprinting or pulling the trigger on an M40. Perhaps they could be changed away from being so... directed, they do give the idea that something is flying directly over/at your section of the world. Or prop noises?
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

I dont need "Mood Music" to immerse me in loveplay either.
