Why is everybody scared for para trooping pilots? I always hunt on pilots when they've been shot but are still alive. But I think that they only have to give a knife and a M9-Pistol with 1 mag loaded+1 extra. Because it will become reality then, you really have to hunt on pilots then. And it would be great to do search & rescue operations
. A limited amount of kits would also be great, if there are only 4 helicopters and 4 pilot/gunner seats there would only be 4 kits available.

The case is not only to prevent paratroopers.
Its this one too:

The main idea we want to enforce is that when a pilot is downed behind enemy lines his one and ONLY objective is to get back home. And for US that mean never engaging, moving silently out of the way, and being rescued while your team mates do all the grunt work (i.e. cover). You can debate it all you want these are the goals we set and implemented. If you have an idea that follows these rules then by all means continue.
Your still welcomed to come up with ideas but keep in mind these goal we have set for the pilot.

Just give him a pistol with 1-2 extra mags, with nerfed damage. 3-7 shots to down a guy.
Trying to be a paratrooper with that would be horrible.

That would seriously lower the realism. The M9 is a 9mm round, though not much of a powder charge behind it, it does pack a serious punch from close range. I think 3 to 7 shots to down a guy would suck, because the guy with the assault rifle would always win.

Sorry to hear that Rudd,
It was a good try though.
We just have to realize that its a game. Games follow rules that humans don't and as humans we cant expect to obtain realism from a mod derived from what is essentially an arcade game. I believe that the DEV’s should carefully consider my statement.
I don't believe this to be Project Reality; I do however believe this to be more Project Teamwork with added elements of reality and real-life assets.
Following such logic, pilots should have a pistol with a few mags, but adding that pistol will incur more work, for better or worse, to create incentives to make that Pilot want to go home and to have his team want to go get him back.
Perhaps one pilot kit (with pistol), per aircraft, (I really hope that this hasn’t been suggested before) only able to be requested from each aircraft, would get the job done. Other incentives will have to be thought of to get the teamwork juices flowing.

I think he means, that the pilot kit is unlimited, but if you have a pilot kit and enter a helo with a pilot allready in it, you will get a black screen and writing telling you "only one pilot per helicopter please" if you ignore it, you die, just like if you enter the pilots position without a pilot kit now.
