Thanks for you reply! I'll keep this in mind when i start adding details.

Edit: Made the front windows bigger and added frames. I also finished some wip awnings that will be placed around the building.

Loving these sunshades though i think they should be above every "entrance" if you keep them and not just here and there .

nice stuff...could be a great addition to the mod... we are always needing some interesting enterable buildings to diversify our cities..

Err, at this time a destructible version is not planned.
I am already getting close to 10k polys and I hope I manage it to finish the model under 12-15k.

Thanks, I hope my motivation to finish this on increases soon... I think the Polycount is already to high, what does the DEV's mean? Its ~10k tris.

Please note that these figures are still preliminary and it would be advisable for teams to initially target their models to be 75-80% of the stated recommendations. Also of note is the fact that these figures are intended to get the most out of the Battlefield 2 engine, which is designed to support 100+ players in expansive environments with a mix of urban and open settings.


Vehicles Rec. Max. Polygon count 1P-cockpit poly count
Class 0, i.e. Buggies and civilian vehicles 4000 incl. integrated Kit parts in the mesh Integrated with original mesh

providing it has a decent set of LODs and COLs that are well optimized and the main model is also well optimized then it shouldn't be a problem. Just with the LODs make sure you take off as much as possible for each one.

If you would have talked to me you already would have a playable version of the building.

That would be really nice in one of the new insurgent maps being made. Great job with it just as others said it would be nicer with more detail like cracks and stuff.

Thanks for all replies. Haven't worked on this for months, dunno if I ever finish this. My motivation to work on one project reaches only for a few weeks, especially I have no real use for the model. If there is interest in any texture made for the building to create own stuff with them, feel free to ask.

I am working already on a new static, this time more common so it can be used in every scenario/map. Also with multiple story interior. But it needs more time to be ready to shown to the public. I am currently stuck at rendering normals for a door...maybe someone can help me with this... ;-)
