The option for an auto rifleman to choose between ACOG, Elcan and ironsights would be terrific.
I have a question, could it be possible to have a few core classes, IE:
Rifleman
Officer
Specialist
Each class could have the options listed, but rifleman would be the most limited one, ie with choosing the weapon layout and thats it.
But with Specialist, could they have the option for choosing the weapon layout, and then having clickable buttons representing certain perks to create that class? IE, an SRAW button which can only be clicked IF it has not been chosen twice on the team.
This would give the option for LAT/HAT/Grenadier etc to have M16's, M4's etc with sights, but still the option for leaving them as ironsights.
I would love this for insurgents as I cannot have an AK47 and a RKG at the same time, and as a SL I have to have grenades instead of an RKG. Since insurgents are more ragtag than regular soldiers the mix and match would be great, and could easily be controlled by having either or choices.

yes! it could be introduced to make playing insurgents more interesting and not so dull!

Damn G3 keeps giving me black eyes. Would be nice to have a bit more selection as an insurgent cell leader.

That said if this were to be implemented it would have to stay within logical constraints. We wouldn't want everyone running around with MP5s and Dragons.
Not every Army is as lax about modifying issue equipment as the American armed forces are.
the Medic doesnt get a scope anymore so that he will pay more attention to healing his squadmates then shooting at the enemy, so he probably shouldnt get an ACOG. but i absolutely hate the ironsights, and would much rather have a red dot. and i like the idea to choose, because i find that the reddot is just easier to use. there are times i wished that i could get a red dot on kits like LAT and Grenadier. often times the ACOG just seems like too much of a hassel in medium range engagements.
