I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."

i dont think there is a way to animate the skybox but it might work to make a particle effect?Adriaan wrote:Wow, pretty cool. Is it animated/possible to animate by any chance?

I gues you could do the Aurora with a cloud effect, but it looks nice anyway.
Though I warn you now.
Latest nvidia graphics cards have a bug with BF2 nightmaps (not BF2- SF nightmaps, those use a differnet .exe)
So make sure you don't enable night shaders.

Yeah, nightmaps haven't gone well with PR in the past. Bi Ming started as a nightmap, it was cool but had serious problems and everything was very challenging to see. Wasn't very fun, and it didn't get played much

The problem is the BF2 engine, I don't know the specifics but it hasn't worked in the past.

well I actually disagree that bi ming wasn't fun!BloodBane611 wrote:Yeah, nightmaps haven't gone well with PR in the past. Bi Ming started as a nightmap, it was cool but had serious problems and everything was very challenging to see. Wasn't very fun, and it didn't get played much
the latest nvidia graphics cards have a bug, I think its the cards newer than the 9800.
When a glow (or dynamic glow such as a incendiary or muzzleflash) touches a static, the static turns black. It looks aweful, and cannot be avoided afaik, at least not without redoing all the PR shaders, which isn't going to happen.

so its going to be a "nightmap" in the way that its dark but enlighted at the same time

My only memory of night Bi Ming is driving around in a warrior with one of the craziest APC drivers ever, shooting at everything. It was definitely good fun, just lots of people hated it.well I actually disagree that bi ming wasn't fun!
That sounds real good, can't wait to see the final product. We need a break from all the sun in PRwell im going to make it dark by doing a dark fog and get my lightmapcolors perfect
