The overall level of teamwork compared to most online games is quite high. However because it is so important in PR, any lack of it has a bigger impact.

In simpler games like COD4 teamwork isn't really expected so it doesn't make much difference. In PR it can make a drastic difference between a great match and a terrible match.

With that aside, I understand the frustration but see little point in making such topics about it.

There's always going to be a percentage of 'lonewolves' and 'newbies' in the community so it's best to just tolerate it. If you're unable to tolerate it you can try other servers, seek clan membership, closed community matches or just take a break from playing altogether.

There is also a chance some might listen to you if you approach them appropriately, in order to help train/educate them. But anticipate a level of disinterest, ignorance and hostility.

i have quite a good time (sometimes) with people that dont know whats going on, i feel its better to teach/ spoon feed them right! than just say go away and read a manual, as it was that sense of understanding and commuity that got me into this game more than any thing else, most lonewolfers probly started out with good intentions but got blasted down by an ignorant Squad Leader, learned from a page of writing and never got a true feel for the game.

In my humble opinion of PR, while I'll admit that the teamwork is generally much, much better than other games (the only other one I play often is Forgotten Hope 2 and it seems half of their players are mentally handicapped), but the one flaw with PR is that one (or several) noob can totally ruin things. This is particularly apparent on INS maps, but not restricted to them. The problem with INS is that the general weakness of the insurgents gives them a rush mentality when they should just ambush the enemy, while the coalition players are either arrogant lone-wolfers because they are much better on an individual basis than all INS kits, while often some squads refuse to adapt to the different rules and just camp to rack up kills. Don't take this for me saying PR sucks or INS mode is always like this, no matter what the mode or map, a round played well on PR still gives me more enjoyment than just about any other online game I've ever played. Just, very refreshing.

agree 100% , for the best teamwork you need some reliance on other players but this can as you stated back fire when "that" (cant think of a better word without getting infractions) type of player dose not work as it team it can cause failure for others.

Meh got madz too... Some guy joined squad yesterday, he was medic, when i asked him to revive us, he kept typing "rally" ... Those kind of things really force to kick people out of squad and makes us all angry. In my opinion, those kind of retarded people should get tuortured for a while.

It depends on my mood: I probablly SL half the time I play, half of the times I tend to work hard to motivate, and try to let everyone have a good time involving reprimanding sniper kits and lone wolves.
Recently where I am perhaps a little bored of many maps I end up being SL, because of no squads available or people quiting and rejoining the squad, then I am cool, if no one is TW or VOIP I just lone wolf SL, or if I have one or two OK players I try to do my best, but I can't be arsed to shout/kick etc., when the inevitable sniper turns up, I try to use him the best I can.

It does seem atm that lots of good/experienced players are missing, probably boredom/OFP/ARMA so yes a good TW round is certainly more rare.

So the dedicated that are still SLing - go pubbing and try to show the VBF converts how to play and enjoy PR so that when 0.9 shows up and many players return we can ALL have a good time.

I actually see it as a challenge to get a cohesive squad going with inexperienced players.

Yes there are plenty of them. I can't believe I am still seeing idiots putting tank traps and Mg's up every chance they get.

I think their numbers are falling though because there are more tolerant people playing PR now than there were a few years ago.

I get allot "idiots" as you would call them and I have found a new method to weed out bad players from my squad that i devised in the "best Karbala round ever"


Its called a loyalty check and here is how it goes...


broadcast over voip "Loyalty check every one move to the move marker!" then place a move marker a few meters from your self and tell everyone to move to the marker.

Do this again(5-8 meters apart) with the marker in a different place to get them walking back and forth this will test there enthusiasm and obedience to your commands.

The next test is the build order, say over voip " pretend the build marker is a downed firebase and we have to build it!"

(this one i find they have the most trouble on)

place a build marker somewhere and tell everyone to get out their shovels move to the marker and tell them to build (not really this is an exercise) do this a few times randomly when you're squad isn't doing anything in order to keep testing there enthusiasm and obedience.


Kick any one from the squad who fails to comply in a timely manner.

Not once did i say i wanted to stop playing PR. PR is a great mod/game i wouldn't uninstall it a million years. The problem is what someone mentioned earlier in the thread. This game does have teamwork to a degree but because of the importance of it any lack of teamwork will be bad.

When i do get a squad that will listen and respond its usually the funnest experience ever.

I was just on UKWF sever i believe.. Archer Skirmish, i quit after 10 minutes, i mean, vanilla has more teamwork...

I come into an ENG VOIP squad, and SL lets a guy take a sniper rifle, other one took marksman, and SL wanted to quickly grab a vehicle, on a skirmish map, i mean wtf people, do you even know what are you doing?

So i get into another squad, wich had normal layout but nobody was using voip... i just lost my nerves and ragequit...

A personal pet-peeve of mine is SLs that micromanage to the point of no one really listening to them anymore. There's a fine line between giving your squad proper direction, and getting in the way of their ability to fight.

VOIP in this mod is real immature. Maybe 2/10 times I will run into a squad where everyone is using the feature with good intentions (i.e. no burp jokes)
