Re: New russian camo and body armor
I would love if Russian got the new camo, but, by always requesting everything for 0.9 it wont EVER been release. So leave .9 alone, start worrying about 0.95X

Re: New russian camo and body armor
i doubt it works like that, the DEVs probably have a work schedule. they probably have .9xx already planned mostly out. adding something basic like this would just put everything back.
Plus a DEV is serving in the russian army so its safe to assume they know of this update. and im pretty sure this has been posted before.

Re: New russian camo and body armor
The Russian Military is still trying to upgrade its older body armor to the more modern 6B11-2 and 6B12-2. When this new body armor is mass produced (the one you talked about) it will take a long time for this to be regular issue for the infantry, because the Russians are having trouble issuing the 11 and 12 as of now

Re: New russian camo and body armor
I read a case about the finnish army getting pissed since this russian camo is the same camo as their M- 05, but russia does not have copyright laws that extend to this

meh, dont start this "they stole(copied) something", even if it looks similar, it doesn't there were no researches and testing of other stuff. Camo for similiar environment will may end up look same just because it works and there is no point in, how we say, inventing bicycle again, just to be "special"H.sta wrote:They stole the finnish camo, how nice
yeah, its exactly same

all i know was that one of my friends in the finnish army was mad becouse he was afraid he couldn't see the differnce between a russian soldier and one of his own in case of a war

Re: New russian camo and body armor
probably means the russian community section, which has been removed. as for similarity with finish camo... looks nothing alike.

war is war, theres no such thing as copying, only reverse engineering. also it looks nothing alike.
war is one place where there should be no rules (exceptions are the Geneva convention's rules, those are for protecting civis, those are fine. Against any combatants is what i mean) anything it takes to win.

The photo that caused the controversy - MVD troops in Georgia, 2008DankE_SPB wrote:now please find the manufacturer of it and if it was accepted into service, then we will talk![]()

Chap on the far left, wearing "Yeger" pattern. And before anyone else jumps up and down, the Russian copy of DPM "smog" (according to one chap I've talked to is apparently due to misinterpreting the word smock on a whole bunch of suplus DPM smocks the Soviets bought, thinking that it refurred to the pattern not the garment and the name stuck) has been known about for years.
Finnish M/05:

Russian Yeger:
http://www.kamouflage.net/camouflage/00261.php
As I'm sure you can see, they are not the same pattern. They're similar, wihtout question, but they're not the same.
Case closed.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

Point of Camo is that you don't get seen at allH.sta wrote:all i know was that one of my friends in the finnish army was mad becouse he was afraid he couldn't see the differnce between a russian soldier and one of his own in case of a war
Also as a basic soldier you just fire at whoever you're ordered to fire at, that's the point of Fire Control orders. The officers will know where friendlies are, and also the weapons will be different.
Anyway from bob's picture - the Russian army doesn't seem organised enough to bring out a new Camo and make sure it's issued to everyone. Imho that photo makes them look like airsofters
