If you need to switch kits with a teammate without suicide; you would use the unarmed kit.

When you're ultimately FUBARed, you can drop the kit and see if they'll comply with the Geneva Conventions and not shootsniperrocks wrote:whoa wait LOL

I've done it myself, people more or less follow the conventions. Its pretty fun actually.

The idea behind the unarmed kit is solely to allow people to switch kits without having to TK, find another kit on the ground or request something else from a crate.
The 'surrender' and 'salute' functions were added to allow a bit of role-play and lolz.

Yeah one guy in a COOP server decided to go into battle without a weapon and the team ended up role-playing that he was a VIP.Sgt.Smeg wrote:The 'surrender' and 'salute' functions were added to allow a bit of role-play and lolz.

Strange, still the Insurgents have a reason in that if they drop it and are now classed as a civilian/non-combatant after 1 minute right?

I think it is only the insurgency team (not hamas, taliban etc) that can really take advantage of the unarmed kit. From my understanding the unarmed kit will act like the collaborator after one minute. Except without the useful hook and all that.

haha. I have only been able to play one INS map as the INS team. It was crazy.. Must of had a lot of vanilla people in, or people too used to .87mongol-horde wrote:bullshit.
I was a collaborator the whole round, and was shot MANY times. It was quite fun actually jumping on top of the APC and tank.
I am sure Blufor will just have to get used to not shooting all the civis on site now. I cant wait till my usual server puts ramiel, karbala, and al basara back up!

It would be great if the devs would implement some perk for managing to get an unarmed enemy soldier back to your fob. If you could somehow load the unarmed enemy in the truck and take him back to your base for a 25 ticket bonus, or something. I know it's a ridiculous and unrealistic pipe dream, but it would be fun.

Not everyone follow it, people still shooting civis like crazy. Had three of us standing on a roof no where near a cache for around half an hour. Someone picked all three of us off. Kept shooting even after the first kill so got three punishes.

hehe. arresting collaborators gives you an intel bonus!USMC_Cook wrote:It would be great if the devs would implement some perk for managing to get an unarmed enemy soldier back to your fob. But with the sudden increase in game players, the people fresh from vanilla, or MW2 still dont know much and always fire RPGs straight from the cache. Or on blufor just shoot EVERYTHING. Kinda funny to give them a 5 min spawn by charging them with civilians though.
It will take some getting used to, but blufor will adapt. They get all kinds of toys, INS should at least get a civilian to help them out!

Hey Elvish! matte225 here. I had similar things the one time I played civi on INS (there is only one in he server rotation currently) Just kept getting shot, haha. Even with my hands up.
The more experienced players didnt though. I stopped "clueless" dead in his tracks in the tank, he didnt even try shooting the coax guns at me.
Like I said, they will learn to adapt. They will just have to not throw grenades everywhere, and check their targets. I am sure he learned his lesson once he was killed and had to wait 5 minutes to spawn. Also, lets not forget that the kills dont count!

Talking about insurgency...
Remember that you can 'arrest' them with a shotgun.
They can spot enemy using their mobile phone, and call in artillery strikes if they're available.
Damn, the manual's useful this time around.
