No one gets it. I'm trying to talk to the insurgents, but everyone keeps shooting at me or getting mad. They say 'Help your squad'. My squad is named 'Foreign Relations', aren't you supposed to do what your squad is called? All of the other members of the squad joined, but kept shooting. The Devs are trying to make this the most realistic Military Sim they can, no? Then why is everyone treating it as 'I need to shoot them!', not 'Maybe I can make a compromise'. Shooting is fine, but if someone is trying to take another approach to winning, don't get mad. A large part of the military's duty's now in Iraq is negotiating with tribe leaders and such. I think trying to succeed in a nonviolent way adds to the realism.
But that's just me.

Re: Foreign Relations
Well, It's hard to tell if this is a joke or not, but project reality has no real rewards for co-operation with the enemy! Quite the opposite, there are benefits for shooting them!Ewoklord wrote:No one gets it. I'm trying to talk to the insurgents, but everyone keeps shooting at me or getting mad. as servers force squading-up, you'll inevitably end up with squad members just there to get kits and shoot. Probably the rationale thing to do, honestly.
Project reality does a great job of simulating millitary operations, not so much grand strategy and compromise.
That said, it's a neat idea that would make a great community scenario premise, or something.

Re: Foreign Relations
Sorry, I probably sound like a moron. I just kinda thought it would be a fun idea, but some people got mad. Sorry for being wrong about the military sim part, I'm new. I have an idea, though. Roleplay servers. Wouldn't that be fun? With mumble and stuff.
Well, it started as a joke, but then I actually tried to be serious about it, in game.
EDIT: Oh, and its a great game anyway. Hard to get used to, but I think I'm getting better.

Ok, must admit I'm torn between putting this in "tales from the frontlines" or locking this ...
the later won
But yeah PR isn't really made for roleplaying extensions. Maybe one day.
