All 4km maps need Transport choppers.
Iron Ridge for example. I went thru a 3 1/2 hour round on that map, and it takes way to long to get from one side to the other.
I would like to see transport choppers added , so the rounds can be more fast paced. This post is only for the 4km maps, i think all the 2km maps are nice and easy to traverse on foot. But for the 4kmers there way to big to go out on foot. You could walk thru the forest for an hour and not see another soul.

Don't all 4km maps already have transport choppers?

you realise iron ridge (the one with the river canyon in the middle) is a 2km map?
all the 4km maps (Quinlinq, Kashan, Yamalia and Silent Eagle) do have transport choppers on them...

Re: All 4km maps need Transport choppers.
I'm pretty sure Iron Ridge is a 2km map.
(edit: double ninja'ed)
But yes, I agree with you, choppers are necessary for inf transport on large maps, it's simply too long for apcs to drive unless there is open ground most of the way. Iron ridge and other 2km maps that are heavilly forested or difficult for quick movement could do with them. I'm also pretty sure all 4km maps have transport choppers, but I'm not sure about that.
Also it's not that the transport themselves is so valuable but the supplies they drop. Otherwise it's get into an apc and have a logi truck follow. And we can't possibly have a single squad doing both at the same time.

Re: All 4km maps need Transport choppers.
All four of the 4km maps have helicopters.
Heavily forested maps translates to 'no landing spots,' so it's more practical to use ground transport.
Either have a squad running APCs, or hope you can get a hold of a light jeep. Teamwork will result in having APCs able to ferry squads from flag to flag, eliminating this issue of having to walk large distances.

Yeah its a ***** to travel over 2km but that's PR. Reward those that set ambushes and those who look and plan ahead.Iron Ridge is a 2km map

you think thats bad?!. Imagine a failure Pilot squad leaving us with no transport so instead of waiting for an APC to Return to Base, I walked my squad out of the Kashan Desert Base to North Village. Took us like 25 minutes.
That was bad. Thank god we didnt get ambushed. otherwise we'd of wasted our lives.

I think maps that need helis are already with helis.
and even if there are choppers in Iron Ridge what good the will do where the 90% of the map is covered with tight forest?
I'm with charliegrs on that. Iron Ridge INS STNDRD map already have APCs, trucks and jeeps. What people have to understand is APCs are actually for safe infantary transport and trucks/jeeps are not disposable assets to be used once!charliegrs wrote:they got these things called APCS, you may want to look into them..

On a related note:
Whats with the weird 2 seat pickuptrucks militia get on iron ridge? Whats the point of them? As far as I can see they serve no purpose except promoting good old vanilla style lonewolfing, where you take a car to the front and ditch it.

Most of the apc squads tend to forget the 'pc' part thoughcharliegrs wrote:they got these things called APCS, you may want to look into them..

If I'm not wrong there are both supply and transport trucks in there.Feriluce wrote:On a related note:

Those pick-ups are the new militia/insurgency ammo trucks, next time you jump in just have a peek to the bottom right you will see that it has 3 lovely crates to drop.Feriluce wrote:On a related note:

They are a valuable asset, and to see them wasted by folks just thinking they are a fast way to the fight is a real shame, and being a new asset I guess it will take time to filter through that they should not be wasted, but like the logistic trucks you will always get that one guy grabbing, driving and dumping it in the middle of nowhere.
EDIT: ah double ninja'd I guess that's what I get for munching on me sandwich before I post

All comes down to team work in the end if the apc squads are doing there pc role that helps, as well as people building fb around the map.
