Squad Member ID#
One thing that gets somewhat annoying at times, is when you need to communicate to a member of your squad via VOIP but his call-tag is either to long or too stupid to be pronounced (no offense dudes w/ dumb names).
Simple idea, just assign numbers 1-6 to squad mates as they report to the squad with SL always being #1. Numbers would be displayed either in lieu of call-tags or combined with them. I think this would greatly aid with squad communication/tactics/situational awareness.
(1)SL: I need 2 and 4 to stay in place and provide rear security. 3 and 5 proceed to marker and await further orders, 1 and 6 will provide sniper overwatch from northern approach, how copy?
(2): This is 2, good copy, setting security.
(4): 4 good copy on all, security set.
(3)(5): Good Copy, 3 and 5 moving to objective, await further orders.
(6) Good copy on all, 6 is in overwatch. 3 and 5 objective is clear, no tangos, clear to move, how copy?
(3)(5): Good copy 6. proceeding.
(6) 1 this 6, got multiple contacts SW, Clear to Engage, how copy?
(1) 6 ur clear to engage.
(6) Copy 1, 6 engaging.
You get the idea.

Re: Squad Member ID#
Squad system is hardcoded afaik.
Or are you simply suggesting that the squads do this themselves? If so, wrong place as this is suggestions for the GAME itself, not for squad tactics.
I find it easier with names as number you simply forget whos who. Plus most of the people you would play with as an SL are ones you have seen before.

I'm suggesting that the game assigns the numbers, and displays it for your character.

most of the time the SLs will give nicknames or ask "what do u want me to call you" / "can i just call you by ___ ".

Re: Squad Member ID#
So you dont have to spend 3 minutes saying the squad members name - FFSBANANAFREAK96 you go with Alhabibialqorugehadwell to cover the stairs..rampo93(FIN) wrote:And this is usefull... how?...
Its a good suggestion as most armies do give out numbers to their recruits and by the time you get to talk with each other you will not use names but numbers lol At least that was what i experienced...

Re: Squad Member ID#
when I command an Inf squad, I often refer to people by their role:
Saw, cover the building
Grenadier, fire on this marker
Sniper take out that TOW
etc
If they don't have a specific role, I just say the first part of their name that I can recognize

Re: Squad Member ID#
All players have a in-game number, you find it in the manage tab. It will then be 45 and 29 instead of 1-6. Don't think anyone wants to use numbers anyway. Lock please.
