About firebases. Take a look at this.

This is with the bf2 engine.
I thought PR used it to its full potential. Imagine if you could do this. It is possible, right?

Yes and BF2 Sandbox has a even more "user friendly" deploying system.
Just that we dont want players to exploit the deploy system which they can easily do if you make deployable like this.
On a side note, I love how that Georgian Conflict mod says that its soo bad to steal "gameplay ideas" when they have totally stolen that "idea" from PR, I mean they even called that sandbag bunker a "Firebase"

And the suggestion is to look into it to see all the possibilities when making firebases.gazzthompson wrote:and your suggestion is ....... ?
Like making firebases that doesn't kill people when deployed, or make more kinds of assets. Like walls. Barbwire doesn't do anything 99% of times, except telling all the enemies where the firebase is. Bunkers. All that. It looks like the mod team don't know about all this. If they do, why don't they make it more practical any exploit it more?

Re: About firebases. Take a look at this.
so your suggestion is to introduce more assets like bunkers?
cause this way of placing assets can people too.
and the wire is there for a good reason, its way beyond being useless. if you say anything else, you havent played pr enough. for example on every insurgency maps its an awqesome protection against bomb cars. or blocking entrances into buildings on every random map.
besides, the way of placing fobs or assets isnt impractible at all...

IDK the barbed wire does give away the FOB position though I agree with that I hope that this will be implemented without any exploites but I think this is not possible

The wired spawn problem is simply due to the spawn points being inside a solid. BF2 does not like spawning players inside of walls.
I bet their Firebase is just an homage to Project Reality
Indeed, the reason we don't use such a system is to make it very hard to exploit asset placement.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:Just that we dont want players to exploit the deploy system which they can easily do if you make deployable like this.

I, as a total FOB whore, approve this message.
Implement or the dog gets it.

So you want players deploying a firebase inside a buildings and I'm not talking about inside of the walls of a bunker or w/e, I'm talking about inside a non-enterable building and you also want to see players doing some really odd/crappy things with deployable like crating bridges with sandbags across from one building roof top to anouther?

Speaking of which, in a training .874, I spawned inside a bunker wall, as a result of someone misplacing a firebase...

I'm going to lock this topic before anyone else starts thinking this is a better system than over what we currently have when I can tell you for sure, its not.
