TeamKill
Everyone knows that 9 times out of 10 a teamkill is by mistake. But in FH2, when you are TK'd you are told what weapon was used.
For example In PR you get :
Joe3454 [Teamkilled] Harrythenobet
in FH2 you would get :
Joe3454 [Teamkilled] [With M4 ACOG] Harrythenobet
This would make it easier to tell who's fault it was, and if it was a mistake. Even so, some of the time i would like to know what teamkilled me.

Re: TeamKill
Should be possible since in vBF2 weapons were shown whenever a person was killed, but I don't think that also applied to teamkills.

Re: TeamKill
You could easily do it in vanilla bf2 since release.robert090993 wrote:It was never in Vbf2, it was only in FH2 mod
It doesn't work in pr because they didn't ad the kill messages for their weapons.

Re: TeamKill
It doesn't matter, you can remove the normal kill messages without removing the kill messages for each weapon.
Kill message:
Teamkill message:
Kill message weapon:
Edit:
Anyway, I think pr hardcoded the message system in some python file.
Kill message:
Code: Select all
HUD_HUD_KILLEDBY_KILLS §0#PLAYERNAME1# [§1#WEAPON#§0] #PLAYERNAME2#Code: Select all
HUD_HUD_KILLEDBY_TEAMKILLS §0#PLAYERNAME1# [§1Teamkills§0] #PLAYERNAME2#Code: Select all
KILLMESSAGE_WEAPON_m16a2 M16A2Anyway, I think pr hardcoded the message system in some python file.

Or you could take my word as an FH2 beta tester for it. All kills are still displayed in FH2. And I'm quite sure the teamkilling weapon is also present in vanilla (although I haven't played that in a while)

Re: TeamKill
Wrong, changing local localization files will make you see what weapon someone is killed/teamkilled with. You can also change the size of the text, colours, and change "teamkilled" with f. ex "pwned" etc..robert090993 wrote:Its not in Vbf2

This is all clientside, and will not affect the rest of the team. In BF2 you will not see what weapon teamkilled you and others with default settings. If this works in PR i dont know, never used it in PR, but it was helpful in BF2, especially as an admin.

Re: TeamKill
If you ment it wasnt in vBF2 by default, then you are right, default teamkill messages dont show the weapon, default kill do messages show the weapon.
If you ment that it cant be done/edited in vBF2 then your wrong. It can be done in vBF2, therefore it should be possible in PR, unless the DEVS have removed this possibility.
