Add a Medevac Feature?

As most of you will know, medicine and treatment of wounds is a very critical aspect of success in warfare.

Here in PR, the medics patch you up, but if he's down, then you're screwed over.

I think that it would be really cool if there was some sort of marker or radial menu option that can call in a helicopter for a medevac. Maybe a squad leader might only have the authorization to do it.

A helicopter crew that isn't busy delivering supplies and transporting troops can bring in medics to that stranded and injured soldier, and possibly bring him back to safety.

I personally would be elated if such a feature was in the game. I know numerous situations when my squad gets wiped out, or there's no medic and no one has a field dressing and I slowly bleed to death on patrol. I also get stuck in holes and craters in Operation Archer and stuff, so maybe the medevac crew might include a specialist that can hook you out.

Though pragmatically it's kinda' more of a liability, maybe just adding a simple indication feature in the game would be cool?

Though I whole-heartidly agree with your opinion... we must see the other side of the arguement.

32 players= ~5-6 squads and 1 commander. Typically only 2-3 pilots. leaving 28-29 players free.

You take away 2 more players and that isn't horrible-but it takes away from what little resources this game already has. Imagine if BF2 had 128 players-your suggestion would be done. But there's 62 players for 4 square kilometers...

The other point for the arguement against it is the helo squad should just keep 1 extra helo open and have 1 guy be a medic for this.

Sorry :/ great idea though.

This is easy to do in game currently, tho the chances are people wont do it. why would adding a com rose request make people do it more? as nuetron said, its more people that wont be fighting in an already stretched team.

It would be nice if there was a Ambulance version of an APC/land vehicle and an ambulance version of a chopper that healed people in it without having to have a medic there, only a driver - the idea being to have the healing help without taking 2 player slots instead of 1.

Even better if the healing speed was only enough to prevent further bleeding out instead of just making them 100% again.

EoD have this dont they?

but if there is some way to simulate this idea,i would give a try,maybe open beta.

You can do this only if you have a good commander and if SLs are listening him. Otherwise you definitely can not coordinate it well.

And also you can simply drop a supply crate near injured soldier. Why need to make extra 2 come and go with chopper?
