killing civilians punishment
I think that the following should be implemented in insurgency mode.
1. Killing 1 civilian = -x intelligence points and -1 reinforcement when cache is destroyed.
2. If all Bluefor civilian kills surpasses a tolerated percentage of Bluefor total kills, then civilian kit isn't available for the Opfor (selectable through spawn menu or any other means). This would prevent excessive shielding.
What do you think ?

While the 1st suggestion would be interesting (-1 reinforcement for cache destruction) I think we can keep the civilians even after a tolerated amount of civilian kills... AFAIK if civilians got killed a LOT it would be the BLUFOR trying to explain itself to the UN

Hahaha yeah I know. but without my 2. suggestion the insurgents would take advantage of the ROE and start shielding, which would ruin gameplay. You gotta keep those critters in check or else! hahahah

Could be fun to make them invincible. Would love to see the ******** faces when they keep shooting and nothing happens. Guess it means the end of their PR carrer and on to their favorite cs/bad company style of games.

Shielding? It's not hard to thwart this. Just get a marksman. I tried getting 10 civis crowded around me, and I was in the middle with my knife. I had a kit without a turban so it looked ilke a bunch of civis. I got shot every single time, and they had a huge line. It's not that difficult to do. Also, use vehicles.
Also, I agree with #1. However, I do not agree with #2.

Agreed, it would make it a lot harder for BLUFOR if they can't shoot at anything they see.Dev1200 wrote:Also, I agree with #1. However, I do not agree with #2.

shielding happens countless times in Iraq and Afghanistan. i think it creates a good dilemma (in game, not in real life) for BLUFOR. the book "Ambush Alley" about Nasiriyah has some good descriptions of shielding and their outcomes

It's also great fun to use a meatshield lol.
But yeah. Killing civis should make you unarmed and your kit disappear. That way people really watch their fire ^^

Oh man, yea, it's always my favorite type of game in which my opponent is invincible and knows it, they never abuse it or **** around. How could you possibly abuse something like not being able to be shot?GoreZiad wrote:Could be fun to make them invincible. The real difference here folks is that in real life, it's probably rare that that mob of civvies is being used WILLINGLY as meatshields. It's not like they got up that morning and decided to stand around to try and prevent return fire onto their buddies.

Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.
The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Re: killing civilians punishment
There used to be punishment after too many civi kills, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Earlier whoever killed four civies under penalty conditions got arrested and brought to court martial (a.k.a. killed).

The thing is make the punisment where you will be killed ingame etc makes civis actually try to be killed. IIRC thats why court martial was taken off as civis would throw them selves into the line of fire.
