FOB splash damage

Post by RELEASE_THE_KRAKEN »

May I ask why is it when you destroy a FOB it omits a damage radius causing you to bleed?

Its pretty annoying when a FOB is partially damaged to the point that when you knife it, it instantly explodes making you bleed. Or if you are building one and it decides to blow up.

Not sure if its hardcoded but I totally agree.

Destroying a sandbag wall/camnet structure IRL would not cause an explosion hurting a soldier.

Doesnt it destroy itself after 2 stabs with knife? So when you want to take it down and you dont have enough time, you need 3 stabs and it sort of explodes?

1 shot and it will die after about 6 seconds. Two shots will kill it instantly (not DESTROY it of course) and will severely damage you, enough to put constant blood on your screen and is bloody annoying because sometimes it will already be a TINY bit damaged, and you can knife it once and it will explode.

I'm always stupid enough to go back and stab it again because I don't trust it to blow, and it always goes off right in my mug.

Should be removed: +1

Or at least its destruction should start with collapsing and give 3-4 sec to run away. Last phase may cause damage.

The real question is; Why do you take damage only from conventional side FOB and assets and not from taking down Insurgent hideouts?

I hate having to kill FOBs as insurgents, because I always end up bleeding to death.

Should give this to insurgents' hideouts to simulate booby traps.

For conventional FOB, please remove.

I think it's cause you are inside the FOB whereas you are on the side of the hideout. It's kinda like when you get killed when a destructible building collapses on top of you

Even when you are outside of the FOB it will damage you. For example if you are on the edge of a FOB digging, and someone drops a repair crate near so the fob keeps blowing up, you get pretty jacked up.

Like someone else said, when an FOB has already taken some amount of damage(LAT, bombcar, grenades, etc) and you go and stab it once, it instantly explodes in your face. That can be a problem. So your little checklist would look something like...

1. Stab radio once
2. Watch it explode around you
3. Start to bleed out
4. Walk across the map to the only civilian
5. Watch as he gets killed just before you arrive
6. Die a long and painful death
7. Profit

Edit: Damn u clueless noob :P you ninja.

Usually it only needs stabbed once, then you run away and awkwardly wait while it blows up (every time I think it took too long and start moving towards it right as it explodes). That is no big deal. It just sucks when (like dtacs said) its damaged so when you knife it, it blows up instantly.

I like to use the fusion plant powering the fob radio to my advantage. My personal best is 6 aoe kills after lobbing an incendiary towards it.

It was great, the whole squad spawned in inbetween the time I tossed the grenade and it detonated, when the smoke cleared, I had 6 more kills to my name!
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

the radio should catch fire after a successful knife to indicate its going to blow up, after all, trucks and APC's do
