This one's a trilogy.

You just know it's going to be historically accurate.

Pretty good movie, pretty negative though.
Casualties of war is not negative, It just shows the realities of war. The differences between men. I'd say Platoon was negative. Especially with the ending words "We fought ourselves" and friendly fire incidents.

I remember crying on the ending scene of Casualties of War where he sees that girl in the bus. Strong movie with strong human feelings.

Just with that last scene you understand the main character is going to live in peace with himself. Happy to see a similar young girl, enjoy peace and education.

You can see he tells himself, It wasn't all that negative after all.

Strong movie I recommend it too.

Another great Vietnam movie is Apocalypse Now Redux (with alot more scenes that we're cut from the original picture). Of course all the classics as well, Burger hill, Platoon, FMJ. You can't go around those.

There's also a few good French movies about the Foreign Legion in Indochina.

I agree the storyline is quite average, but the Grimm and action they succeeded in recreating makes it interesting to watch from a military standpoint. You get caught up in the fight trying to think of a strategy like you we're there. It's really a soldiers movie. F the media and F the higher command chain. We're the best.

the way i see it, if a film is based on actual events or a true story, especially a war film, it can neither be good or bad. it's just...'it'. haha. but not 1968 tunnel rats though, it looks fucking gay

I cant believe that they would have them there I actually did see part of that movie(reason: just to see how they would implement the black hawks but I ended up being bored from the beggining so decided to abort my mission

Its like having a huey in a WW2 movie

The DVD cover of 1968 has several Blackhawks, yes. The film itself has only one Huey in the opening scene, but the movie is still not believable or realistic on any scale. Eg. the US outpost is literally in the middle of the jungle, without a firezone cleared around it. It's supposedly hostile territory, but no sentries are posted. And so forth.

This. It's a Vietnamsploitation movie that somehow got into the time machine and flew 20years into the future after the fad had passed. Though everything has to be put into perspective: it isn't that awful if you compare it to some of the cheesiest entries in the genre, such as hilariously bad Strike Commando. Or maybe it is.

lol just by looking at the cover I'd never watch that movie."After APOCALYPSE NOW! and... PLATOON! Here comes..."

"A cheap remake of those 2 great classic movies named earlier!"

P.S: Directors note: We also added some blackhawks on a sundown ambiance to remember baclkhawk down, another movie that made good money and we saw a gap in the market.

Air America is a nice film, not warfilm but about CIA operations in Laos during Vietnam War. If you like flying and Mel Gibson in his most political role ever its a must see :)

The start of McBain (1991) with Christopher Walken and Michael Ironside is set in Vietnam, like the rest of the movie though it's quite ludicrous.

It has some of the silliest combat scenes ever: Dailymotion - McBain clip - a Film & TV video

^That's right, he casually shot down the enemy fighter pilot with a Desert Eagle through 2 cockpit windows without breaking either of them.
