move option for SL radio
I was thinking of putting the move/def/attck/obser option in the Sls radio. As people as SL today usally pick whatever kit (ever since we took rps out) and lead. So it would make it better if we put in the move option for Sl kit on the radio.

I honestly don't see why the SL markers are in game at all... It's not realistic. Should it reprecent someone pointing or what?

Re: move option for SL radio
To place a marker, it has to be quick and snappy. Taking the radio out will simply take too long.
I for one, hardly ever see people leading without an officer kit unless they're completely stupid.
Imagine for a second you are driving a truck, but your squaddie gives you a location. You'll have to continuously check the map to make sure you are headed to the right position. On top of this, an SL is going to find it hard to say 'enemy 12 o' clock' when half the squad isn't going to be attuned to the direction the squad is facing.

Once again, there is realism and then there is practicality.Lemon wrote:I honestly don't see why the SL markers are in game at all... It's not realistic at all. Should it reprecent someone pointing or what?

Re: move option for SL radio
I've almost never seen a serious INF squad without an Officer.
About the radio, I have an issue: After I set the target distance, I can't select anything besides the top and bottom options (can't select the APCs, Tanks, you know...)

You have to simply disengage the radio, and right click it again. I get the same thing, it can be buggy alot of the time.goguapsy wrote:I've almost never seen a serious INF squad without an Officer.

For example when placing HMG/TOWs if you hold the button down it treats it if you are spamming the button, hence giving you the 'Wait a second' or 'Try reading your field manual' messages. Extremely annoying when its something that I'm sure can be easily fixed.

How do they solve this in real life then?dtacs wrote:Once again, there is realism and then there is practicality.

In my world a squad member should always know where his squad mates are and especially where the squad leader is.

Who would not be SL the SL has more of absolutely everything and the SOFLAM or is it taken away? More patches etc.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Thank you I'll try that. The distance keeps marked, right? (As in I don't need to set it again do I?)dtacs wrote:You have to simply disengage the radio, and right click it again. I get the same thing, it can be buggy alot of the time.

I think the move/attack markers would be visible to the entire team, leading to a pretty cluttered map.
For team markers simply use the OBJECTIVE marker, if it doesn't fit in the other categories that is.

you have to double-tap T, first set the distance then re-press T you can select the left and right of the commo rosegoguapsy wrote:I've almost never seen a serious INF squad without an Officer.

having the marker appear only on your minimap would work perfectly imo, as a guide not as a magic precision marker.
failing that, putting it on the radio seems like an interesting idea.

Re: move option for SL radio
The HUD markers should be removed IMO. Sometimes a squad needs to drive somewhere and the SL puts the magic move marker on the screen and there we go, easily, I say NO! This is wrong, a SL should drive or sit next to the driver, on the navigator seat and have his map open all the time and command the driver like "Turn left, Turn right" etc.

Re: move option for SL radio
Disregard, off topic but it still applies to the above comments.
People already don't follow the markers on the HUD. Why are they going to go to a marker they can't really see.
It's a good idea, but in the interests of practicality and game play it doesn't really work imo. New players will be especially put off by it I think, they aren't familiar with the maps, where cover is etc and you won't probably won't see many posting here because they are new to the community so you're only getting support from the regular players.

Not a bad idea, if the machine can figure out if the squad is an infantry squad. What of pilots, recon sniper, tank crews, etc?myles wrote:i was thinking dont make it be in the radio but just make that only an SL kit can issue markers
