movable Crates

Post by Bringerof_D »

hello, so it seems to be one of the major problem with crates is that either they slide away from where you need it to be OR where you need it to be the vehicle cant get in/over. so my suggestion is how about we try and make it so the crates will slide when players push it, sort of like the soccer ball object at the british ACV.

that way before it slides out of place you can push it somewhere where it wont slide away. or if the crates were dropped in the open field you can push them to be hidden in the tree line or inside a building (with a large enough door) it seems sort of stupid now that those crates are left out in the open where they can easily be spotted and/or destroyed.

Wouldnt it require a few soldiers to move a supply crate though? With all the kits / ammo in them I expect the weight to be more than just a few kilos.

I like the idea of being able to push the crates. As you said, it would allow for better concealment and would promote more recon.

yea i do agree, especially if you want to build a firebase where to crates are and need to move them. Also they do provide decent cover from small arms

well i never said just one person, actually that was one of my first thoughts was "how can they make it so it would take multiple people?" and yeah sometimes the only places where crates can be landed/deployed by truck aren't the best places for FOBs. I know you can build the FOB a bit farther away without moving the crates, but it's kinda stupid to do that because then the people who spawn need to go find the crates. which is unrealistic because a fire base would not be so disorganized and scattered

Tried that once with an APC, but the vehicle suddenly began to bounce and exploded, if i remember correctly. Fortunately it was a training server.

pushing with a vehichle is too risky to be worth it, most of the time either the vehicle gets destroyed or the crate does

It sounds like a good idea but.

- When you try to build a fob in a hard place, the crates disappear.

- Example if you wanna build a fob on one of the ships in Gaza beach, its gonna take some time, and sometimes the crates disappear, and you have to go all the way back.

- If that's something that ain't supposed to happen, I would think they need to fix that first.

Remember you can put crates behind a wall if you park your logi truck's *** gently touching a wall (any wall). Then the crates will be dropped on the opposite side.

Pics or it didn't happen.
He never claimed that vehicles can push them into places the vehicle cant go, thats just rediculous. All he said is that it is possable to push them with vehicles. Read what you are commenting on before commenting please

Is there any way to make it just 'heavy' enough that it would take a few players pushing simultaneously to move it?

I like it as it is, so you always know where the crate is and can go back to it for ammo etc. People would be stealing them and what not.

and that is exactly why you need to push them into the FOB complex in a designated area, so enemies cant find them and push them away while you're not looking.

Now who the hell would steal a crate?

I think this suggestion + https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... stics.html = WIN! You can render an enemy FOB inoperable by silently stealing their supplies...

Any possibility of making crates a vehicle, that you can "drive" around and hide it? (Make the animation like someone carrying the crate) And make it operable by both sides :)

Putting the firebase near/on the crates makes them go boom ;P

It would be nice to be able to push em. :)
