A sniper doesn't always have to be useless. A sniper can 1. Harass an enemy FB and keep enemy units tied up looking for him 2. Take out medics and squad leaders 3. Provide long range fire support (on maps like muttrah) 4 . Take our entire squads through choke points (bi ming , best sniper map ever)

I went 59 and 0 with US sniper kit on Operation archer, so shut the fuck up with that shit about snipers being useless. In the right hands the sniper rifle is one of the deadliest weapons on the battlefield.

Kills get you intel to my friend. 50 kills per cache marker on the map. 10 caches per game. 500 kills and your team will know the area of all the caches

You can only gather intel when a cache is still unknown. The kills you are getting if both caches are revealed are not giving you intel towards the next cache. I've generally found the caches are revealed pretty fast without someone uber-1337-pwning everything. And when i've been doing the killing (ala warrior APC) it hasn't made much difference to the overall result. At the current stage if your team are bumming around without any intel, I can almost guarantee they'll still be bumming around when there is intel. Anyway that's all a bit beside the point. I myself don't think a Sniper has any place in PR, I rarely see them spotting, and when they are spotting they may as well just have a marksman rifle. The lack of bullet physics make the shot too easy so people are unwilling to do anything but blast away. Also because the maps have low view distances and are quite small the places a sniper can hide are actually quite limited since they have to be up high somewhere within 500m of the enemy to be able to see them, which will limit them to one or two hills.

Also you undermine your own point, what you did was useless, and that outlook is the reason everyone hates snipers.

And stealth, did you pass any realtime intel to other squad... i think you were concentrated on killing rather scouting. And every weapon is deadly...esepecially if there is more of them, 59-0 was just because you sat back and shot from long distance, others cumulated smaller amounts of kill but got killed in the heat of battle so thats the reason...you had no enemy (theoretically)

I like sniper kit not for kills but for intell telling to team were apc,fob...
Also it woud be cool if PR made somthink to identified enemy officers, becuse after 400m its almost immposible to see what kit soldier have

Remove sniper kit
My suggestion is to remove the sniper kit from all factions.
I see very little use of this kit anymore, as it is often used now for spotting.
Using this kit for spotting is, imo useless and a waste of a squad space and man power within this game, i often see 1 man locked squads and 2 man locked sniper squads and even squad leaders as snipers and just letting their squad do whatever they want and not encouraging teamwork which is what this MOD is about.
Also with the lack of veiw distance this makes the role of snipers well..redundent when you can use a officer kit for the exact same job.
Maybe the sniper kit could be replaced by a spotter kit which is the same as an officer kit but without the pistol and maybe ammo that way the CAS squad could have more than one officer per squad.
If anyone can come up with a better edit to this suggestion i will edit it in red.

Yea for most games I can agree with this suggestion. I mean, they did it to themselves. Lonewolfing, being 1337. Its 2 men you wont be using for logistics, feet on the ground or what ever there is to do.
However, I do think a lot of people will stop playing PR alltogether when they remove this kit
I also know that theres some actual good snipers/recon people out there. Kudo's to you!

Absolutely agree with removing this kit.
The kit is useless. Screw spotting or whatever. You can achieve the same with an officer kit.
Yes there's a good sniper once in a year, but as mentioned, he can achieve the same with an officer kit; just without his kills. Good dedicated infantry squads are sometimes even more effective than snipers when it comes to spotting targets or lazing targets.

YES YES AND YES!
All this does is take away players from where they are needed! Infantry, Tanks, aircraft and everything else are sacrificed to these silly 2-4 man sniper teams for 1337 wins. N00bs running around stealing the kits from SLs and then wasting assets only to be fried by enemies or lose them to insurgents. This kit is practically useless.

This kit is pointless because snipers cant see any further then anyone else. The fogling in this game makes it so snipers have to get way to close to the enemy to shoot and therefore are easily found.( its not PRs fault its the engine)

I agree with removing it, since view/draw distance is heinously low.
Even though some people may not like it, it will have the same effect as the "spec ops" kit in earlier releases. Some people will whine, but they'll get over it.
