Played a round of BC2 after pure PR for a few days. Have to say using an M14 is a breeze in that game thanks to the semi-auto modes in PR rifles. Just cant get teamwork going because VoiP is still a trick and people are point happy.

Most FPS right now feel SO unreal and over exaggerated. That is after playing PR, lol.

This. Exactly. I played PR for a solid 4 hours the other day. 1 insurgency round, Kashan, and a Muttrah. Played MW2 right after I ran around with the Cheytac and dominated.alec89 wrote:Most FPS right now feel SO unreal and over exaggerated. That is after playing PR, lol.
Played PR for 10 minutes yesterday then went back in MW2 and played Domination on Derail with the Intervention with some guys on mics, we did it tacticool way. Call out enemy positions, I would pick them off. Defended B, got a pred with Akimbo Raffica's. Anyway, I could hardly go to any FPS game now and not take a PR approach to it. Use cover to my advantage, use my mic, Call for a medic. Call for CAS sometimes, ask who is on Mumble.
In all, PR has changed my gaming style in FPS's. Has it made me play "better?" Somewhat.

I think a lot of video game designers are thinking big block buster movie, big explosions, a lot of bullets flying around, constant barrage of noises/lights/effects. I guess they get so caught up in the "wow" factor of new games and the graphical advances made that they forget about the players who are looking for depth in their games as opposed to instant satisfaction.alec89 wrote:Most FPS right now feel SO unreal and over exaggerated. Just take the round length of PR compared to other shooters and it kind of puts it in perspective.

I play the same in vanilla as I do in PR. Which probably has something to with my reasons for playing PR.
I always get top player and best teamwork score in vanilla

Other way round, I'm to slow for MW2 to get the top player but I do decently. BC2 is like the only one which is hasn't affected cos I always play with my friends and they have mics.,

Re: Has PR made you destroy in other FPS?
After playing PR for a while now, i started to play MW2 again. And after one or two rounds i destroyed the others, and got inmature comments like always on MW2 there these kids playing and flaming all the time ( hate that, thats why i return to PR, where u have mature and teamwork-orientated players most of the time). So: Yes, after playing PR i destroy on other FPS, cause my aiming has improved. But it is often half of the fun, because the teamwork is the most fun part.

Im good in most any FPS. I can turn my PR ROE on and off at the drop of a HAT. (lol)
I play a lot of CSS and Insurgency Mod, and I still destroy in those.

Re: Has PR made you destroy in other FPS?
biggest problem i've had with other shooters even before i started PR was that you're too confined, that's the whole reason i enjoyed the BF series for so long is that it doesn't limit you in very many ways. yes occasionally the terrain still bottle necks you into heavy fighting but with the right tools/vehicles you can still get around them. in every other game you must go down that alley way, you must walk into that ambush. Multiplayer is only slightly better, you're fighting in this 3-4 city block area, you must go down this alley way or this one...
yeah i like being able to attack a city from all sides instead of spawning in at one side of the city and being forced to go straight in.

I'm not a twitch player, and I tend to die a lot if I'm by myself. But I've found that if I get on a vBF2 server and I can get a tank squad going, the rest of my dudes will eventually realize how much we can dominate if we all roll together. Then they want to stick together the next round, and we do it again. It's way more fun, and we slaughter. That's what PR has done for my other gameplay. It's less about honing headshot skillz (which I never had to begin with) and more about learning how to herd cats.

After playing PR for allmost 2 years I don't touch any arcade FPS, I play only simulators, like ArmA 2, Ghost Recon, Lock-on etc.

I don't play a lot of other stuff, then PR, because the most of the new games, are like mw2 or bc2, no team play, small maps, to fast, unrealistic, contaminated with kiddy's
but with nice graphics...
My last round mw2, wasn't to bad, I just don't like the game play, of this kind of games.
I like it to crawl, with my squad, for 15 minutes, in a field, to attack a fob

Re: Has PR made you destroy in other FPS?
haha! I enjoy playing other games, still, because, that's what they are, games. PR is more a realistic war simulator, not entirely, but the feeling after playing it for a while can get, not boring but it can get to serious because of the realistic combat ways you have to think in your head all the time, advancing, shooting etc. So it's a good contrast to jump out and play a none realistic war game, wich makes you feel like you are more in a creative, action movie, kind of like. You can also say, PR is more of an Adult game, wich is why we play it, and love it, right. So I see no problem, for me. Just accept, and play a game how it's supposed to be played, and youre fine.[R-MOD]Eddiereyes909 wrote:I find that I suck anyways.

In NORMAL play mode i suck, since you have to empty a full mag to kill somone ( and since in PR i usaly shoot in single and take me 3-4 shots to kill somone... ) in hardcore mode... then....

It doesn't make me "better". Other games=other mechanics that need different play-style. In some cases it even hinders me because I'm so used to the PR mechanics that I try to implement them in other games(like waiting before shooting).
Then again I don't play any other games online and it does not take much to outsmart an AI in a non twitch-shooter game.

Nope. I can still play them pretty well. They just feel boring, unidimensional, and childish.

No it didn't...
I already owned before I played PR

The only effect is probably that I die less than others maybe because of more careful playing...

Yes I did in VBF2. If you keep a minimum of distance from the mob its like shooting fish in a barrel. But I dont really play arcade shooters, except for the occasional Doom1/2/3
