I can't even start a local server to practice flying which is really baffling. I mean I could understand not being able to connect to a server via the internet, but this happens even when you're setting up a LAN? I suppose if you want to remain crash free in co-op/lan you could just disconnect from the internet, but even then I don't know why we would be crashing on a server thats sending no data through the interwebz.

I've crashed every round safe for 2, and loading is hit or miss. A lot of times I'll be looking at the progress bar stall, and stay stalled for a good 2-3 minutes (feels like forever when you're looking at the loading screen) then the notorious error. After I eventually get into a server all my settings are switched around, sometimes everything is on high and others everything sets itself to low (I play medium on all for sake of stability), this is another really confusing symptom.

Look, its not your games guys. It is EA's servers. They should be getting it fixed soon. As for those who cant join at all join off IP or maybe Xfire if you have a friend in the server.

SO Ive found a fix for the kick at map change.

Do a manual update of PB. Why I dont know but when I did there was a update to download. Use.

PunkBuster Online Countermeasures

Then login to Vanilla BF2 so that game spy can verify your account. Wait 5 mins then log out log in to a PR server and see if you get kicked at the map change end of round.

Since I have done this I no longer get kicked at the end of the round I just load the next map like normal.

you log in to the EA authentification server, thats where the problem lies, so even if you are in local your account is online, auth server fails, boots you out.

you can make a new account, select offline account and you will have no problems.

I have that problem as well. I normally have the dynamic shadow and dynamic lighting off because my comp has trouble when they're on. But ever since this mess, I've played matches where the shadow and lighting is very noticeable. When I go back to the video settings, they're still at the settings I left them at. And changing them doesn't have much of an effect.

Tried this and it didn't work.

Thanks for the info Rudd, it solved my issue with heli practice.

As for cashing then having odd settings, I've taken to closing the game when I'm brought back to the login screen. It's a minute of my time to save possible hassle.

I also get that problem, good to know it's the servers fault.

That's funny considering how I just had a guy who completely uninstalled and reinstalled BF2 and PR to try to fix his graphics....

I have also problem whit this. When I press esc on server to get to main menu, it goes trangelooking like if you have lagspikes, then after 2 sec it crashes to login screen.
Its the same on local and multiplayer. Then It crashes to login screen during mapchange.
I think I can get used to this over time, but...
