Not really interested in the suggestion to be honest.

BF2 is sucky and PR is pushing it in every possible way. No point in adding un-necessary stuff.

fully agree ..... especialy in the desert maps .... tanks and other ground vehilces would normaly kick up alot more dust ... and the dust would stay in the air for a bit longer than whats in place right now :L ... ALSO!

Part of this suggestion .. is it possible to give Jets Dust trails when they go below 30 so meters from the ground?? alot like Helicopters which are already inplace? that would give some sort of Jet blast kick up effect while take off and ( landing which rarely happens )

WITH A MILITARY JET OFCOURSE :O

nothing much tbh, it would look cool.

what would it cost? particle effects are always a major problem.
On maps like Kozelsk or Fools, it could help with locating a vehicle. You may hear it go by, but look in the direction to slow. If the dust trail was to stay for longer, you would know the general location and the general direction

Well, could you make it so only people playing a the game at high on graphics can see the dust? Or like the view distance, while it is at 99 there is no smoke and at 100 dust? Might be hardcoded, but its worth a try. Also people should update their PCs and stop from preventing other people from enjoying the eye candy that PR can have. I mean, it is a 2005 game, that's all. Its not like asking people to play ARMA2 OA on max graphics with 10km viewdistance. Upgrading your PC is not expensive either, should not go over 500$ if you know what to buy and when. If one does not have that money in less than 2months(and is over 1 8) , then maybe they should lay off PR and think about what they have done in their life so far. This is because I can't see why any person who is blessed to live in the western-world(mainly refereeing about US and EU countries) can not get hold of 500$. If you are bankrupt, have gambling problems or simply can't lay off cocaine, then don't ask the PR Devs about reducing the graphic potential of PR.



ALSO: The last sentence in the previous paragraph DOES NOT refer specifically to the persons that are currently complaining or have complained or will complain about PR having less graphics. It is a simple allegory that I threw out there.

I also have to add that some problems that people have with PR graphics have are not related to their PCs specifications or their network connection. Those problems, like some fields on Dragon Fly are simply BUGGY TEXTURES, which can be easily fixed, at least hopefully.

Noone should be forced to buy a new computer. I AM buying a new computer because I didn't in quite a while. And I didn't buy one so far not because of a lack of money, but simply because it is not a high priority for me to be up-to-date with hardware. There's other hobbies that I want to spend money on, too. Oh, and some people might just want to SAVE money instead of wasting it on a 500$ computer that'll be outdated in a year?

I do not think you are right when you're implying that those who are not up-to-date with their hardware are too lazy to work.

Ever played kashan and had explosions have almost no smoke, or there be hardly any missile trail?

Thats what happens when there are too many effects particles. Forgetting FPS here, even on the highest settings, if there are so many effects (the clouds are included) then it gets to a point where it wont render anymore and you get jdams with no plume of smoke, explosions that are invisible and trails that look small and dotty.

i think the dust mass is ok at the moment as it is.

if anything should be changed then maybe the effect fadeout time so it clings for longer.

-Well, yeah, it was a suggestion because the Devs still think that the people with PC bought in 2004 and lower should still be able to use PR with all its graphical performance

-NOBODY IS FORCED TO UPGRADE THEIR COMPUTER, I won't go to your home with an AK in my hand telling you to stop complaining about not adding a graphical feature to PR because your PC is old or outdated. I was just saying that those people should understand that they can't use the same computer they had 5 years ago without updating it and expect that all the games and features will still be available for them to play on that old PC.

I did not say that in the first place. I am just saying that any person that did not waste their time while a teenager and actually learned something from their MS, HS or college in the US should have a job with a decent pay. That job should afford someone to spend 500$ or more on something once every 6 months.
If you are in some kind of economic hardship and you can not afford to spend 500$ on something in 6 months, then maybe you should remember that you can also live without PR. Nobody will kill you, nor will you die if you lay off PR. If you want to still play PR, that's fine, but don't ask the Devs to stop the graphical and performance increase in PR just because of you. In ROMANIA, where a very good, HS teacher used to earn 500$ a month, and where an electronic engineer with 14 yrs experience, risking his butt off for Alcatel( a French telecommunication company) by working as a contractor for different operators in Nigeria, Congo, A-stan and other God forsaken company gets paid less than that 500$ a teacher earns. There I could still afford a 500$ PC. Before that I had a puny little AMD K6 PC with 500Mhz. I don't remember complaining to other game Devs to stop developing a game I played that my PC would no longer run.

I hope I made myself understood and answered your questions.

If your computer isn't good enough to run something nice, upgrade. I see no reason why a valid suggestion will be shot down because a few people cannot run a game properly.

called money???? some people don't have a lot of it thats why. People sometimes can't simply "upgrade" just by asking their parents or dwelling into their massive wallets for cash.

If $100 bucks is too much for a permanent upgrade, you shouldn't be spending it on parts ;)


And I addressed the fact that suggestions get shot down because of "will slow down crappy computers". Or "too much system resources". It really isn't expensive for an upgrade to normal specs. Pushing my budget for a new PC, getting lots of great upgrades, I spend $800 on a PC, and this was store-baught. I'm sure you could get the same for much cheaper.
