The artillery seemed a bit odd to me. After the shell landed there were 3 explosions in the same place, after that it hits another place and starts over. Is it really how it works in RL?

Yes welcome to modern warfare, ww2 != modernwarfare.ediko wrote:The artillery seemed a bit odd to me. After the shell landed there were 3 explosions in the same place, after that it hits another place and starts over. Is it really how it works in RL?
In modern warfare we use submunitions that were developed in the 80ties.
The shell contains severeal smaller submunitions that part of and explode indivudally, allowing a greater area to be saturated and helps defeat cover. Let's say you are behind a big rock and the artillery old shell goes off 50 in front of you then you are safe. But if there are sevearl small bombs that goes of over the area your directional cover will be nullified. Also with various weapons sysems that can fire faster and great range, like MLRS, submuniton allows for much bigger areas to be saturated.

Here is a good source of what i mean that does not take up the later high tech anti-armour rounds, but just the orginal concept of submunitions.

High explosive submunitions from ordinary artillery are capable of defeating APC/IFV. And Heat seaking submunition that can be fires from even mortars can defeat tanks.

iirc its 4 Artilleries firing 5 times... and the 4 artillerieshells have the impact near each other ... by time and by area ... but i dont know if its just bad luck but this artilleriestrike realy seems a little odd (to close to each other?)

Still looks odd. Maybe it's just me but it somehow looks different in videos. Do those 3 explosions really go off in the exact same place after another? I thought they go off all together and in a bigger radius. I'm probably wrong

There are 4 arty pieces firing and The artillery is set to fire 3 then 1, 5 or so times. So the result is three explosions, then 1, 5 or so times.

no if you watch the video very carefull youll see that the radius of the detonations is about 5m.ediko wrote:Still looks odd. Maybe it's just me but it somehow looks different in videos. i think thats a pretty good accuracy but i dont know if its realistic or not
