Scimitar Firing Deviation
I've noticed recently that the Scimitar's Rarden cannon seems to have a deviation increase every time a shot is fired, resulting in increasing deviation the longer you fire. Deliberate or not?
Also, is this really such a good idea?

Re: Scimitar Firing Deviation
I believe it was intentional at the time. In practice though, it doesn't really work as intended.

Agreed, I didn't fire it, but my squad member dubbed it "ridiculous"... I was moving, he was aiming at the ground and the rounds were going sky-high (like, really high!). That's what he said, at least.

Deviation on vehicles makes no sense. Your guns go exactly where you point it.

Actually, I would love it if it would stay pointed exactly where I wanted it to, independent of any input.Daishi2442 wrote:The scimitar and Warrior turrets are the most painful things to use right now. I know this isn't the exact bug you're talking about, but whenever the vehicle turns, the turret turns equally in the opposite direction, which makes aiming impossible if the vehicle is moving. The turret should follow the vehicle, not the ground.
Also, if the camera stayed perfectly level, even while rolling about in the vehicles. A man can dream...

Re: Scimitar Firing Deviation
The firing deviation on the Scimitar is a left over from an experiment we tried with all 25-30mm cannons. It was reverted on all of them before release except the Scimitar was accidentally left out.
It's fixed for 0.95.

Re: Scimitar Firing Deviation
TBH I don't think it would've been a very good idea, unless it was tweaked a lot more, to make it so that the accuracy would be no more than a certain amount at 200-400 rpm, but would stay at base deviation if fired at 60 rpm. Of course, there still is the issue of being able to actually achieve acceptable hit ratios with autocannon on the move and whatnot...[R-DEV]Jaymz wrote:The firing deviation on the Scimitar is a left over from an experiment we tried with all 25-30mm cannons. They said it was an experiment and it was reverted, so they decided it wasn't a good idea either...Hunt3r wrote:TBH I don't think it would've been a very good idea, unless it was tweaked a lot more, to make it so that the accuracy would be no more than a certain amount at 200-400 rpm, but would stay at base deviation if fired at 60 rpm.
