My basic gripe is that when a Trans Chopper gets downed/loses rotar control, you do the one thing that can save you. Call for repairs.
Now, rare that a supply truck will make it to you (in time), rarer STILL that a SECOND supply truck actually makes it to you aswell.
Thats right, you need TWO trucks...
I just suggest tweaking the repair station repair rate so it AT LEAST beats helicopter bleed.
I think we have all seen the perpetually exploding chopper...

Totally for.
Additionally, it would be great if a smoking, downed chopper would not "bleed" when the engines are off, that would beat a problem as well.
Currently a downed chopper is equal to the destroyed one.

Re: Increase repair station repair rate
To my knowledge repairs are performed in the BF2 engine based on a percentage system, much like ammo resuply. For example a tank with 1000 health will repair at 10 HP/sec is repair rate is .01/sec while a helicopter with 250 health will repair at 2.5 HP/sec. Assuming that 'bleeding' damage occurs at a constant rate based on a percent of HP then this rate would have to be smaller than the repair rate of a Repair station. So the issue would not be the repair station but the bleed rate.
I'm for some way to salvage a downed helicopter better. Be it reduced bleed or some other mechanic, as long as it doesn't make the repair station OP.

The idea behind the, for want of a better phrase, "crash mechanic" for helicopters in PR is to aid survivability of the crew/passengers, not the survivability of the airframe itself.
Fact of the matter is that a downed helicopter will not ever be repaired in the field no matter what situation you could imagine, the crew would be extracted and the remnants destroyed or recovered at a later date.
As unrealistic as it might be to see a helicopter gradually blow up, it would be more so to have it easily repairable.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Why not increase health by tenfold but also increase it's damage rate by less than tenfold. Gets the intended result and is impossible to repair.'[R-MOD wrote:Jigsaw;1455350']The idea behind the, for want of a better phrase, "crash mechanic" for helicopters in PR is to aid survivability of the crew/passengers, not the survivability of the airframe itself.

Obviously tenfold is overboard, but you get what I mean.

Re: Increase repair station repair rate
Actually I'd like for the repair station to repair about 1.5-1.8 times faster, right now it takes way too long for someone to get their AFV back up and good to go after being tracked.
