Find range. Fire. It's NOT hard. And nobody knows what ranges are, you have to get a SL or someone with a GLTD. Or you can approximate, and then just aim up or down to hit your target. Tbh, just go practice.

Re: Setting Ranges
I think I remember watching a video saying that each keypad was 100m square.
So A1kp2
Kp2 is 100m in each direction if you stood in the center.
If you don't have an SL to mark, you could use that. Or just launch a smoke round to mark the spot before using HE, smoke usually isn't used much anyway

I dont get how this is an improvement. In PR 87 you right click and were able to see all the ranges. Now you have to take one extra step to set the range.
Also how much a kpad is depends on the map size.

Have you considered shooting something like a smoke to practice range-finding before moving into battle with your squad?bmarcoux wrote:I'm still noy getting the granande launchers. Re: Setting Ranges
The minimap now has a scale on it. Or ask SL to range find.

Fire one round then adjust to where it landed. Alternatively, fire a smoke as to not hurt friendlies.

Re: Setting Ranges
Just been practising on a local server by myself - Get the SL to set an observe/target marker on the place he wants a round going, then press caps lock and it will give you the range to use on the launcher in between the 'Mutiny' and 'Done' buttons. Set the UGL sights to that setting, aim the round and fire.
Best to get into a local server and just practice by yourself for a bit; set random targets for yourself with binoculars and such against buildings and shoot, or move a jeep or something around into different places around your location and follow these steps to try and hit it.

Re: Setting Ranges
It's very accurate actually. I hit better with this than with 0.91's grenade launcher sights - maybe that's because deviation seems to be less annoying. Anyway, it's not hard to adjust the sights. Takes a little longer than it used to, but with the help of the map and/or the SL, you should be able to get the range pretty accurately.

Re: Setting Ranges
Some range settings, on certain rifles (inex. m16), appear to be blocked by the mounted sight enhancements. It occurs on the 50 or 100 meter setting; noticed it on IDF Gaza and US for Muttrah.
I'm not sure if it is intended or a bug (as it appears realistic), but it can be worked around by "guesstimating" with the range set higher or lower.
------------------
The new range settings are very nice when preparing for an assault on a distant position, but on the fly I find myself leaving them set at 100 or 150 m (and launching at other ranges by feel). To me: getting that first round down range quickly or fiddling with settings..... is usually the difference between seeing the enemy at a window or calling for a medic.
I'm not saying that altering the settings takes a long time, as with practice you can get pretty good at changing them quickly. The added time seems to come from the person mentally guessing at ranges and thinking too much at the wrong moment, rather than just reacting.

Re: Setting Ranges
You can approximate, because UGLs have a decent amount of splash damage, Otherwise, the other people are right.

Re: Setting Ranges
For me it is very inaccurate. I even tried 50meters on flat surface in main base, and the grenade landed far beyond 50meters. So I dont know what Im doing wrong. I tried this after I was trying to hit a enemy sniper. First I put a marker on him, hit TAB, look for range, and set the launcher at the same range, and keep the gun as much in the middle of the screen as possible, if thats what youre supposed to do?, before setting range on the launcher. No hit with 17 grenades. But I like challenges.

Re: Setting Ranges
O my, I didn't know you could change the range finger on the launcher till I watched that video just now. Not like it matters to me, I probably still wont change the finder cause right now im killing entire squads. Just killed a 6 man squad on Muttrah 5 minutes ago.
Although I guess the range finder comes in handy for longer distances, guess ill fiddle with it.
