[0957]mortar issues
Hello.
Last night, right after the release, I experienced some difficulties with the mortar.
First of all; when I enter it, it's all blurry with different colours. When I press 'f', and get to the "adjustment-screen", EVERYTHING is blurry. I can't see the compass, nor the "height-adjusment-tools". All I can see is that calculator.
Now to my question: What's wrong? Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Re: [0957]
There needs to be an active fire mission called in by a spotter in order for the mortar to work.

Re: [0957]
Oh.. so it's meant to be blurry?
EDIT: Until a fire mission has been called in? ^^

Re: [0957]
There should also be a notification saying something among the lines of 'An active fire mission is needed'.
Can you take a screenshot next time this occurs?

Sounds like you jumped on an unfinished mortar.

You get a black screen and a visible message if you dont have an active firemission.

@ Tartantyco:
Yes, could be, but it occurs EVERY time I enter a mortar.
How do I show you my screenshot? Lol, I'm new to these forums.

Re: [0957]mortar issues
w00t? Is there something specific I can do about it? I cannot buy a new graphic card, since Dell's made their own variant, which means my graphic card is very small. It's an ATI Radeon x600-series or something like that.
However, that means I can't buy a larger one, since it won't fit. Damn Dell.
So, is there something else I can do about it? Like changing my video settings, or something?

Well, if a bigger card won't fit, you may need a bigger box, it might be overheating because there isn't enough space in your computer for the airflow to cool it. Really, this is actually a technical issue on your side.

You could try to open the case of the computer and clean the card and the fans of dust, and then put a normal fan infront of the open PC and see if that makes any difference.

Locking this as it isn't a bug.
Hope you get your card sorted.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Have you tried updating drivers for your video card?

For the record this IS an issue with the game and not your graphics card OP...
(unless you count having an old gfx card as being an issue

Aye. Same exact view of the calculator screen, here.Thread re-opened.
If other users are experiencing this problem please report your system specs here.
Specs:
acer LAPTOP (!), model aspire 5670
Video: Ati mobility radeon x1400
Ram: 2554mb
CPU: Intel? Core? Duo Processor T2050
I do realize it's almost legacy hardware, but with the ram upgrade i can run many relatively modern games with ease at low-medium detail.
Weirdest thing of all is that EVERYTHING else in pr is working perfectly, even the awesome new 3d scopes with the "depth of field" effect. The only broken display is the mortar sights and calculator.
I'm currently running on modified ATI drivers, since they have suspended support for older mobility cards, we have to get the desktop ones and use an utility (mobility modder) on them to install. It's been a pain to get a decent driver to work, and since everything else is working fine reinstalling or upgrading drivers is, well, not an option. I'll be fiddling with the settings for a while to see if there's some LoD or mipmapping or whatever involved that's being cut down by the detail setting, but i fear it'll be little use.
Please let me know if there's anything that could be done (beside a rewrite of the mortar interface
Thanks for your time, and thanks for the awesome work.
