Project Reality v0.957d Hotfix released to server admins

Post by dbzao »

We just released a server-side only hotfix to server admins that addresses the team wide CTD issue and some performance tweaks. We asked the servers that apply the hotfix to have 0.957d in their server name so you know which ones have been updated.

Here are the changes:
  • Removed UAV since it's causing team wide crashes.
  • Updated checks for mortar fire missions to be more efficient.
  • Updated checks for players using enemy kits to be more efficient.
As you can see, the team wide crashes are related to the UAV, so we are disabling it until the client patch comes out with the full fix. Thanks to Vulc@no and his community for finding and reporting the issue.

Another weird random issue that we got in this release... In no way we would have caught this issue during testing as, yet again, the cause is so mind boggling that it boggles the mind.

At least we can put this one behind us. :)

EDIT: This hotfix caused an issue with mortar fire missions lasting only 30s or less and it was not intended. A hotfix of the hotfix was sent to all server admins to remedy this, but it will not have a new version number.

If it causes crashes, I bet it's better without it. Very well.

Good job by the way devs, 15 days and 4 updates

Thanks for the Work Devs! Sad though that such a cool feature caused the issues... Will it be fixable, or will the UAV be reverted back to older forms?

I applaud you guys for stay on task and crushing those pesky bugs as soon as possible, or at least putting a band-aid on them for now. I'm sure I speak for the majority of the community when I say we have confidence you will sort any major issues out.

I haven't encountered any more problems playing (crashes, etc) when the UAV is operational compared to when it is not. Is this related to it being in the level, rather than being used?

The Predator UAV was so powerful that he could take out an entire team ! Too bad it was the wrong team.

Very nice :D

Thanks from my side as well to Vulc@no & community who found the issue, and of course to the Devs for fixing it.

I think it's about a glitch which allowed mortar crew to use mortars even if there were no fire mission request on the map.

Good job for spotting that, yesterday I got 2 team-CTD in 2 consecutive maps, good to see it fixed.
Many thanks to everyone involved in the making of the best videogaming experience ever !
