i just got through playing my first time with the d server side patch(CIA kokan and hookers). the firemission for the mortars to activate is extremely short, like a minute or shorter....my crew barely had time to set in dir. and distance. it was frustrating but we can adapt...just wondering if its suppose to be that way.
so i guess what i am trying to say is, what does this mean exactly, "Updated checks for mortar fire missions to be more efficient." ( change log 95d )
it didnt say shortened the time mortars are available during firemissions.....

Now mortar squad SL will spam the chat whit mortar firemissions and get kicked.
Anyway I think this is just temporaly solution before they find way to make peoples use spotters.

Yeah, this is what I thought as well when I saw that. Might be hard to encourage ppl to use spotters though.Tarranauha200 wrote:Anyway I think this is just temporaly solution before they find way to make peoples use spotters.

Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

True, I think that removing markers for pilots was also to make the INF point out the target location with lase so the pilots know where to attack, gunners will find it on thermal, same goes for Mortars, if no fire mission, don't shoot, otherwise its spamming... Which also requires Squad Leaders to take their Officer kits WITH them.mat552 wrote:

We didn't intend to change the duration of fire missions, will investigate if that change caused a bug.

I think that the tread starter meant that u cant set direction and angle before the mission expires even if u have a valid target.PatrickLA_CA wrote:True, I think that removing markers for pilots was also to make the INF point out the target location with lase so the pilots know where to attack, gunners will find it on thermal, same goes for Mortars, if no fire mission, don't shoot, otherwise its spamming... I also had this problem yesterday, we were given a firemission, and started to set parameters, but if we werent quick enough our SL had to spam the chat with missions.

You can still change direction and shoot without a fire mission, only angle setup needs really a mission...

This was fixed and released to server admins.
