I was wondering if Autodesk Softimage Mod Tool 7.5 would work in creating models for PR or BF2. Im asking this since this is what I have been using for a couple of years and I rather not try and learn a new program (I will if I have to). Im pretty sure it can export into 3DsMax so I would still be able to do that if I have to.
Sorry quick question: What is the optimal polygon count when creating a plant such as a tree for BF2/PR?

Autodesk's 3DS Max 9 is recommended. It's possible to export models from other modelling programs, but this usually comes with various problems. I don't know much about this particular tool though and the issues that might come with exporting files to different programs, perhaps someone else can give you better information on that.

Well is 3ds MAX hard to learn. Or is it easier if you have experience with other modeling programs. If its not to hard to learn i might try and learn to use that.

Autodesk is a company that makes many CAD and 3D programs, like AutoCAD, Inventor, 3DsMax, Maya and a bunch of other stuff too.SGT.MARCO wrote:I use auto desk for my engineering class in high school. its pretty neat. Hope you can because i may start
The CAD programs, like AutoCAD and Inventor are not suitable for Game Modelling, trust me I've tried a long time ago to port Inventor and AutoCAD models into Max before I learnt how to model with Max, and while the porting is possible, the end result simply can't be used on game engines.
