AAV armarment setup
so i finally had a chance to gun for the AAV, and i was suprised the way the weapons were setup. with every other vehicles, the coaxial machine is setup with the RMB. however, the .50 on the AAV is a selectable weapon. it threw me off, and im wondering why it was done.

Re: AAV armarment setup
Usually the coaxial machineguns are M240 and not M2 0.50cals.

Re: AAV armarment setup
MAs said both couldn't be fired at the same time irrc, hence the different weapons slots

Animal.Mother is correct.Wh33lman wrote:so i finally had a chance to gun for the AAV, and i was suprised the way the weapons were setup. with every other vehicles, the coaxial machine is setup with the RMB. however, the .50 on the AAV is a selectable weapon. it threw me off, and im wondering why it was done.
The attached photo shows the control panel for the UGWS; the .50 and the GL cannot be armed at the same time.

The delay is only 1 second, which is about the same time it would take for the gunner to flip the arming switch irl.

Plus if it were both, BTR's wouldn't stand a chance ;_;

It is the same way for Bradleys and Abrams, you have to switch to Coax after engaging with HE or AP, so why isn't it this way with those vehicles?

1 second switch between ammo types is worse than having coaxial always ready.

Re: AAV armarment setup
You can have M242 armed and Coax armed too. Its only a switch on the joystick wich take about 0.0001 second to switch, the weapons are already ready ( that alot of readiness huh ? lol ) there is a switch on joystick, a simple click. So it dosent worth a weapon slot.x-spades-x wrote:It is the same way for Bradleys and Abrams, you have to switch to Coax after engaging with HE or AP, so why isn't it this way with those vehicles?

Re: AAV armarment setup
I was a little thrown off at first, but I don't really have much of a problem with it. It probably takes us less time to do it with a keyboard or joystick button then it takes the actual gunners to do it in real life.
