Re: Community made PR WW2
I'm not so sure about flags to be honest, but we'll see what comes of it. First things first I guess

An example:
as the axis reach the purple area the allies would spawn at the blue zone. Thus changing the front lines.

I think AASv4 does/(will do) a good job where there is a clear front-line and plenty of flanking space. Spawning on flags would make the battlefield more active but it could be detrimental to teamwork.gr770 wrote:An example:

Yeah unless the distance are far between each flag. We can sort this later though

Never say never Captain.
I'd love a hybrid of PR and FH2.
I'd even be willing to help if this project gets wings.

Re: Community made PR WW2
I would have to agree. With all the work going into PR Vietnam and all the Community factions still need to be developed, along with PR:ARMA2. With many developers moving off the BF2 engine, its not really going to happen and that's even assuming that this idea had a strong leader behind it who knew what they where doing (which as of yet, it doesn't) as the team to support it simply wouldn't be there. If there was a team to support it, other things would most likley suffer such as PR Vietnam, the community factions still in development etc and would most likley result in all of them falling as the devs get spread far too thinly to support all the projects.SWIZZ=kettcar= wrote:i think its a bit too late to realize this idea. but i wish you good luck.
Good luck with anyone attempting this but anyone who dose is really betting against the odds here.

Re: Community made PR WW2
well technically I have never done a bf2 mod before so I don't have the best knowledge for this but I can be the leader but I'll need a good team. I'll give this poll at least a week to see where we could stand.

Re: Community made PR WW2
Someone suggesting "PR - WW2" is something that returns every month or so. This thread is slightly different, as it doesn't suggest the dev team should make it (some still seem to think that though
), but rather a community-made thing.
If it takes off or not, I don't know. I can see it happen, but requires people with knowledge. It's a long shot, I agree. But if someone suggests "PR - WW2" again, simply redirect them to this thread.
I contacted BGF just to know if a PR WW2-addon would be allowed to use assets from them, in case someone does want to develop it, and before someone not from the PR Team would contact them.
I have received another e-mail - thank you BGF for responding so darn quick! Here's the list of all the assets. Note that the striped items should NEVER be used, unless they're already in PR.
Regarding statics, all statics are allowed to be used, including Stalingrad statics. Those aren't in the latest build, but are in the unreleased v1.1 alpha build, which can be used as well (it's just not uploaded atm).

I voted no - I don't see the point in making a tonne of stuff that's already been made by Forgotten Hope 2. I say, "go talk to the fellows at FH2, combine the mods into an amalgamation of mod awesomeness. It's dreaming in technicolour, sure, but c'mon folks - koombaya, work together.
Despite all that, three models catch my eye for use in PR - WW2 mod or not. These are, namely, the TT33, scoped Mosin-Nagant, and T-34/85 - they could easily serve as, respectively, the Militia pistol, sniper rifle, and light tank

Re: Community made PR WW2
I doubt anyone is going to model anything, wouldn't be worth the effort. Besides, if this takes off, it's not a FH2 clone whatsoever, just like BGF wasn't.ShockUnitBlack wrote:I voted no - I don't see the point in making a tonne of stuff that's already been made by Forgotten Hope 2
Whoever is going to do this, go for a quick-win. Heck, for all I care, go for one map at first and put whatever assets you need in additional zipfiles, which you load through the map's client/serverarchives.con. Put that map in the mods/pr/levels/ folder and make use of PR's Russian and German forces, while using BGF kits and soldiermodels (which are located in those zipfiles). Not perfect, but you can get the basics ready in one day if you wanted to

I probably will release 1 map just for testing ideas. Plus if I make 1 map and post on the right forum it could be good advertising[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:I doubt anyone is going to model anything, wouldn't be worth the effort. I voted no but only because it concerns me that the PR community isn't big enough to uphold all of these upcoming PR mods. Even PR:V concerns me on this matter.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading

Re: Community made PR WW2
id offer modelling and some UV support, but to be honest, all my work gets tossed out or just stuck in a closet somewhere(case in point, my M1014 XD) plus i dont' know how to texture, have a basic understanding of the eexport system, and nothing baout fine tuning
