Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
The error pops up when I select the meshes that I want in the projection. Shot in the dark, does the uvw channel that the auto-unwrapper puts the Hp meshes on make any could/make any difference?

Haven't had too much time to play around with this yet, but I did have time to implement 'slow motion' effects when you hit stuff.
Still pretty early... if you get 'stuck' in slow motion, just hit something with your chainsword and it should fix it.
Also kitties can now die, and will spawn from time to time.
I think my next step is either to integrate this with a website for keeping track of scores or put in 3rd person animations. I will see what times allows me to do in the coming weeks.

20 mins into another speed model.
Diffuse only (hence why it is so flat). Will post a shot of it in unreal once spec and other maps are done.

fuuuu jpeg compression. Looking at it now I really should have added some more geometry to the low poly

A few bugs but working. Model by me and Loran (rip) uvs and texture by me. Its quite strange looking back at 'old' work. I had pretty much no understanding of normal map usage and spec usage which kind of shows I guess, but hey it was a fun asset that taught me quite a bit. Also completely illogical scratches in some areas

Even for 'old' work it's very good, nice to see it in a game as wellTim270 wrote:A few bugs but working. Model by me and Loran (rip) uvs and texture by me. It's very good working for a beginner, please show more as you make progress ^_^SuperArmy wrote:i just started using Maya at Uni and this is what we have done so far. we are making a small city for our project for this term.

Looks like you overlooked a small detail in front of driver's hatch/triplex, we missed it too and it was to late to fix it, and it seems its not modelled in other models too

Granted, it is absent on some vehicles, but it seems it should be there.
But very nice overall

Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
Thanks for the nice comments

I've connected up most of the underside (didn't try and make it that accurate since it's rarely seen) Started doing the back end now and filling in details in the middle. There's still a lot of parts missing, like the fuel cap and I've modeled the firing ports, but not attached them yet
The mesh is starting to get very unwieldy, the hull is 40,000 polygons and I have to mask parts of it out to get good performance working on it
Objects are everywhere and even with good naming they're hard to keep track of.
Polycount when rendering with 1 level of smoothing is 2.5 million xD

Yeah I saw it on a couple of my reference photos but not all of them, added it in now.Granted, it is absent on some vehicles, but it seems it should be there.

Superarmy,
I just got blasted with some antivirus spam site called "Security Analysis" when I clicked that last image of your application open showing your model. As soon as the page went from here to Image Shack, the spam page opened and started to run, so I got out of it.
DO NOT try the following address unless you know how to deal with "virus check" spam! (wants to do a virus check of your system)
