Just to clarify, this is not an official test. Official tests will be announced in the other thread.

Yeah, I know, I'm also baffled by the totally weird situation we're in.Uladh wrote:i joined the test server but i was the only one on it? why is no one playing 128 man!!!
128 PR server is up, yet nobody's joining. If someone told me this will happen year ago, I would be like... "man, stay off drugs, obviously you gone too far"

Will 128 players be widely implemented in the next patch?

Re: 128 player tests: Feedback and Observations
The mod feels COMPLETE with 128 players. 4km maps with only 64 players? WAAAAAY too big. Good job Tema. Most of the time the 4km maps are full of noob asset whores; the number of infantrymen in ratio to the vehicles was way better this way.
Project Reality is dying in many ways. I think the 128 players will breathe new life back into the mod. I feel you should do this sooner rather than later.

Re: 128 player tests: Feedback and Observations
PR is a project that managed to train people to fight in teams. Produced a new breed of players - squad leaders, officers. Trained squad members with them.
Doesn't matter what will happen to PR or any other game. People with new skill is the thing that is gold in PR.
Just take a look at any other "teamwork" shooter youtube video. Every other game/sim is light years away from PR guys in action.
128 is the final test for online players. It brings new challenges to FPS games. Can this amount of players be coordinated? Will the whole thing fall apart? Well, if anybody can do it - PR players can.
I think organized 128 battles will be the thing PR will be remembered for.

Yes it can be coordinated.KingKong.CCCP wrote:PR is a project that managed to train people to fight in teams. Produced a new breed of players - squad leaders, officers. Trained squad members with them.

No it will not fall apart.
No PR is not exclusive. Any game can handle 128 players, both network and gameplay. Soldner: secret wars did it in 2004 with over 128 players, Arma2 does it, Operation flashpoint: cold war crisis did it, BF3 can handle 256. The only reason 64 player limit exist is because developers don't want/have the time to balance larger maps. 64 player has never been a hardware limit, which is again proved that we all see that bf2 handles it just fine, thus it was only a design and balance limitation.
Seriously you guys, you are sounding exactly like people that believed that riding a car above 40km/h would kill you "because of the great powers that would strain on the body". Or like the people who believed no humans would use the internet since we have library's.
Yes it is a good thing with 128 players, and a great feat of the developers to get it working despite hardcoded block, but could we please calm down. This forum has been totally uninhabitable since they released 128 version with everyone running around waving their arms in the air like children madly screaming "OH MY GOD 128 OH MY GOD!!!".

You got it wrong there, buddy.'Sirex[SWE wrote:[MoW];1560126']Yes it can be coordinated.

No, 64 player limit is hard coded from EA because they targeted different public with vBF2.
No, it was not easy, it took a lot of effort from many guys to make 128 possible.
Doesn't it make you feel like that? Aren't you waving your arms in the air like children madly screaming? This forum has been totally uninhabitable since they released 128 version with everyone running around waving their arms in the air like children madly screaming "OH MY GOD 128 OH MY GOD!!!".
One more thing to add: OMGOMG 128!
PS. There is a new forum for all us madly creaming wavers of arms, so you don't have to worry about this too much.

If anything I feel that is growing. PR:V, Arma 2
