Today: breaking the player limit.
Tomorrow: fastropes.
And then... the world.

ye, current CPU is on 100% load with 116 players.. 205 wont help. Server was chokingKingKong.CCCP wrote:around 205 players when I got connection problems...![]()
Well player limit is gone now but there could show up other engine "limits" like this ghostids which is 1024.Nebsif wrote:So if U have a monstrous server u can have as many players as u want? (just like ARMA)
Might be a job for one of those Xeon CPUs. Their speed is always 5-10 years ahead of commercial products.[R-CON]Soppa wrote:Well player limit is gone now but there could show up other engine "limits" like this ghostids which is 1024.
But worlds fastest cpu I7 2600k can run probably 250 players without lag.
As overclocked to 5GHz maybe 300-320.. dunno![]()
This is quite interesting, as it reflects the exponential rise of workload the server has to master with increasing player numbers.[R-CON]Soppa wrote:Well player limit is gone now but there could show up other engine "limits" like this ghostids which is 1024.

wouldn't a video card solve that problem because i have a GTS 450?FullMetalMonkey wrote:I don't see why it shouldn't but the Intel Graphics card is abit iffy. Whilst it has alot of memory i'm not too sure as to how it runs, i have heard that Intel Graphics are getting pretty good now days though, not as good as Nvidia or ATi though.
so if my power supply can run the card, does that mean that i can run 128 players no prob?FullMetalMonkey wrote:Yeah definately.
I was going to suggest if you could strip your old card to your new one. Although if you do you might want to check the power supply. Prefab computers tend to only have a PSU that is exactly or a touch more powerful enough to run its current equipment.
You might need to do some research on that though.
