Re: [Faction proposal] Afghan National Army
You are absolutely right. Taliban and ANA alike speak mostly pashto and dari, pakistani Taliban speak urdu too. There has been some discussion about having pashto in PR and that would be nothing short of awesome, but not easy to find the voice actorsWakain wrote:the use of arabic, though you've got a point that it's not entirely accurate, is defendable because a part of their their warriors (and warriors they are) come from all around the islamic world. pashtu(pashto in english?) would be the better choice though.
the arabic used ingame is actually not spoken by anyone irl, it's Modern Standard Arabic(MSA) which is only used for writing. educated people mix their local arabic dialect with MSA a little but that's far from "pure MSA". having soldiers speak to eachother in true MSA is just ridiculous irl but a very understandable choice for games.
What comes to ANA faction it would be cool of course but I think the DEVs and community lack the resources to do that (which includes dedication above everything else)
Edit: Come to think of it the ANA faction would not need much work besides the maps and some custom textures, the two ragtag factions against each others would be something new and interesting. Maybe not so impossible after all.
BTW noora hanki mikki!

Hey guys, why not do Persian voice overs since Dari is the majority language and it also helps in the event someone wants to make a Iranian faction

Well, the Original MEC is based on a good amount of Arab Armies, the uniforms appear to be a custom design, in the Beta screen shots they wore a ACU-Esque colorway of VSR TsK-3, letter a generic woodland pattern, and finally French Lizard, which was only used by the Syrians in the 1980s, meanwhile the Helmet is taken from the Saddam Era Iraqi, Libyan, Suadi and Iranian inventory which still wear M1 helmets, most Egypt and Syria forces still uses Soviet style, with the rest switching to PASGTsimeon5541 wrote:MEC in reality :

Meanwhile on the Weapons and Vehicle front, it would indicate Syrian forces since Syria tends to be the only country in the Middle East to have cutting edge Russian weaponry like the AK-107s they run around with a few exceptions, with their vehicle camouflage implying the Jordanian Army
As for symbols, their Original flag in the Beta was a green and red bi-color defaced with the Eagle of Saladin with crossed swords or rifles behind it and something, I'm assuming arabic below it, which was later changed to this flag we have now, which uses a very unusual color design, the Vodnik texture implies it was at one time a simple yellow-white-green tri-color, but it regardless, this color combination is extremely rare in the Arab world only accruing on the Royal Standard Saudi Arabia and barely on the Flag of the Arab League exclusively, and on Royal Standard of Kuwait, the state flag of the UAE, and the Naval Ensign of Oman, but with other colors
Meanwhile it's symbol as seen on the SU-39 and the armband of MEC soldiers is 3 hands thrusting swords into the air, which is fairly unique, but ultimately taken from Palestinian groups, all within a wreath like that of the Arab league seal with a empty banner beneath
Meanwhile as a oddity on their helmets appear to be a Old French style Shield with the MEC Flag on it sans the Star and Crescent as done with the flag on some of their vehicles, which only occurs with the Omani Military

I don't know why,Broseph wrote:Hey guys, why not do Persian voice overs since Dari is the majority language and it also helps in the event someone wants to make a Iranian faction
but even in PR MEC is still my favorite faction.
