Realisim on your weapons

hey there, its me G-Death, i was wondering how realistic your weapons will be, like sniper rifles 1 shot kills or like 2-3 shots in the chest or something. The clan im in [LMS] has a sweet weapon mod where it takes very few shots to kill someone. But im just wondering how realistic your mod's weapons will be.

Well I'm no PR developer, but I've been here long enough to answer your question, Project Reality plans to make this "Realistic", so the weapons will be very few shots to kill someone, and a sniper rifle chest shot should be an instant kill depending on your caliber rifle.

yea G i think this mod will allow greenight to take a much needed vacation lol :lol:

sounds great because if you shoot someone at 2 feet with a high power sniper rifle and they dont die, then you got problems lol, thanks.

Hmm, why not? Snipers are meant for long range, not for 2 feet. You deserve to get knifed if you let them get that close.

yeah but even at long range its still going to be two shots, if you shoot them like at 2 feet the guy shouldn't live

I have a friend who was shot 7 times in Croatia, 2 rounds were to the head, his driver shot twice. Both survived, and he currently serves in the 48th highlander Regiment here in Canada, just because you're hit...doesnt mean you're dead. These shots were fired "close enough for him to grab the barrel", and i quote.

my guess is that the bullet didnt have enough time to expand to become wide enough to do some large damage...

Sure 7.62 rounds expand that much? Either way, expansion or not...7 rounds to ones body is going to do a lot of damage.

yea id say what happened to your friend is an aboration from the norm 7 shots will kill someone 70% of the time

Well, where was your friend shot? BF2 will have a "Criticaly Wounded" state, and it sounds like that is kinda what happened to your friend. You cannot code every single artery, veing, nerve, bone, and organ into a player model. IRL you could get shot in the face, have the bullet go through one cheek out the other and be relatively ok. In game you'd be dead, because the game counts that as a head shot wich is 1 shot kill. PR just has to make the best of what they can.

Good to hear that your friend survived though, that sounds like a pretty bad situation.

He took 1 round through the back of his arm, several to his torso, and elieve it or not, 2 to the head. he was in critical condition, but pulled through and made it. I'll see if i can grab some pictures to post, it's pretty interesting stuff.

Anyway where was he hit on the head? Upper portion? Jaw area?
I believe 1 round grazed off his skull by his ear, and I know for sure 1 round lodged in his temple.

guy's I really hete "over" powerd snipers.... you know you running real hard just have that little open space and boem, death because one shot one kill and the range of the sniper is almost no problem. they just aim a bit higher etc . Also half the team is sniper it just suckes. so i hope you guy's make snipers life hard. And maybe I can help with a little idee:

- snipers need to correct the scopes because of wind and range.
so why not make the field of view consisting of two or three different range area's. and when aiming into one of these "range"field the sniper needs to adjust the scope (pressing a button for 4 sec.). so he cannot just go and shoot somebody accurate at close range and just look up the map and shoot this guy on the horizon. You guys get it or shall i make a little drawing??

- give all scoped rifles a killflash (like in Far cry) only when they have the sun in front of them. than you actually can filter out sniper locations.
