[Help] strange squiggly road/spline issue in editor

Yeah, I know, I know, I must be really bad luck with the PR editor, but this one's been baffling me and I really can't figure it out.

Following both the BF2E and Rhino's road tutorials, I've been trying to set up roads and intersections and have run into a small but annoying problem.

All of the roads I've drawn out with splines running in one direction (East to west) are fine, but the roads that are running north to south have a weird issue where the edges will vary in an odd oscilating wave pattern, in different degrees. The geometry of the road will vary between two spline points, making it difficult to line up with the intersections and aesthetically too messy for an otherwise neat and organized city street plan.

The frequency of the "waves" gets higher the closer two spline points are together, so I can almost make the road straight on the longer stretches of road, but when I have intersections close together, there's only so much I can do.

I've tried changing different variables, I've tried starting a spline out east to west and then moving it north to south, but to no avail. I'm really stumped here :? ??:

Note that I have neither applied the roads to the terrain, nor have I tried viewing in game.

Also I get the following errors in the console every time I save the road settings:

As it says in this tut (although I can understand why you haven't read it yet and this info should be in the main road tut :p ) it says this: Making Terrain Slopes (Image Heavy) - Official BF Editor Forums
Note:

If you do want to keep the road, make sure you click "octaves" and make sure it is "0" and not the defualt "3"
This will give the edges of your road a nice smooth finish.

And thous errors are normal with roads when building them, I don't believe they cause any major issues.

Ok, excelent! I had not done that tutorial in regards to slopes, only the basic shaping tools tutorial.

I guess when you've been making maps long enough you've seen pretty much every error in the books.

Ok this is strange,

I've been naming all of my roads A_Street#, B_Street# etc. with # starting at 1 with the first length of the street I make. For some reason, every time I reload the editor, all of the roads assigned to the C_Street series disappear. The splines remain, so I can remake the roads each time. I tried naming one of the road segments something different, and when I reloaded it was not gone, so I'm guessing naming them C_Street has some sort of coding issues.

Yeah that was more of an observation than a question. I do have another issue now though. When I try to build the final roads, I get some strange texture stretching artifacts with many of the roads, which occur mostly on the edges. In addition to stretching, some of the ground texture shows through under the road even though the splines were applied and the ground is otherwise completely flat. I can post pictures if my description is not sufficient.
