this. epic firefights, and if you had a really good surprise position from behind you could actually get more than 1 guy.

Scared to get shot? puh-leease, 0.6 also happens to be the version when SAWs were the least used squad-limited kit ever. I think it's also the time when the term "jack-in-the-box-riflemen" was coined.

There might have been more skill visible shooting-wise, but a lot less tactics.

Are you on drugs?
Ofc they were scared, firefights lasted for about 5 seconds because everything was uber precise. I've seen people spirinting across a street and shooting and killing at 100m+ distance, that was ridiculous.

This summs it up how it was in 0.6-->Vanilla with more damage, period.

We could also make a SW mod if you guys don't want any devation/recoil. Blaster rifles for the win.

LOL, okay. Maybe I was the only one who used cover, ordered my squad to suppress the enemies. Least used? I used it quite often when I wasn't a SL.

Now they are better? Automatic lasers, easiest weapon to use.

I'd say yes. When the enemy SAW deploys now, you NEED to reassess your position. I don't remember having a problem dealing with them in 0.5 and 0.6.

But that's not the point... look, I'm assuming you guys ran 0.5 and/or 0.6 on your own server. Is it private or public? Because if it's private, or used solely by a dedicated community, one of the reasons me and Brainlaag have such different memories as opposed to you might be because we remember pub games, which, well, you know...

Public server. Played with random guys most of the time with one or two guys I knew.
