Weather?

Weather?

Would it be possible to Add weather into this game? Im not sure if BF2 is capable of doing something like this. When I say "weather" I mean like playing on a map that is pouring rain and lighting and thunder every few seconds or so. Cause that would add to the realilism I guess. I mean, in real life, we dont always have a battle on a perfect sunny day or a nice cool night, do we?

Im sure its possible if they really want to. I didnt think BF42 was capable of it til I seen ActionBattlefield and FH's foy.

Weather is definitely something to consider. We'll be able to tell you more once we get our hands on the mod tools. :)

Weather = possible. Just not major weather. Like Foy has a snow particle every like 30 feet. ACtion BF ive heard has some nice thunder storms in it though.

Not in any intention to change the subject, but when you guys get that mod kit, be sure to look into making some night maps with night vision, etc. You just can't beat night wars with all the traccers :shock:

BF2 has dynamic lighting, so night maps are a must. A night time thunderstorm would be great. Even if you couldn't have rain the thunder and lightning would work. Have random flashes go off that key a thunder sound. So you might be sneaking up on the enemy and then all of the sudden there's lightning and they see you and there's a huge firefight and tracers are flying and... /endactionmoviesequence.

Flares are good too!

I wonder if PR did night maps, they could also make an illumination round for artillery, that would be awsome, before you assualt, have your squad setup 200 or so yards from the target, call in some flares and shoot anyone unlucky enough to be caught in the light. :D

Well could infantry, and other NV equiped troops, have amplified light + a green filter?

Could certain types of light be picked up only with certain filters? interesting possibilites if this can happen.

Hopefully...

So, how do you make the NVG work? Just have it constantly on the player like the gas masks in BF1918?

I'm imagining the sweetness of being able to look out over a level, tottaly pitch black. Then, hear a sonic boom, seconds later, FLASH.... boom....FLASH....boom.... bombs going off in the distance...

No idea on how to code NV though...

Does BF2 have Tracers on the Weapons already, are do you guys gotta add them to the mod?
