UAV?

Post by xambone »

Just wondering if the mumble unlinking when you are in the UAV was susposed to be fixed or if it is not fixable yet? I went out of bounds and mumble unlinked also. Anyone been up in a jet?

Mumble unlinks you if you're outside of the combat area.

The UAV flies very high up in the sky. If you'd go to the same height with a chopper or jet, you'd get unlinked as well.

I haven't a clue if this can be fixed, but I surely hope it can be.

Cant mumble be set to make it not possible that you hear people when unlinked unless they hit force center? Only drawback I see people have to remember to hit the force center button between rounds if they want to chat.

not having to hear people who are Unlinked would be the most awesome feature for me in a fix of mumble!

They might need to add some audio notifier so you know when you are unlinked.

in a jet your changing alt ALOT so adding that audio notifier will be annoying as all hell especially for pilots

They key you press to talk to everybody in the channel at full volume.

On a personal note, I'd prefer the next version of mumble not allow talking regardless of what button is pushed when the person is unlinked. Admittedly it would take away the ability to spam between rounds about how awesome that rpg kill was and whatnot, but the benefits infinitely outweigh the costs imo.

In this perfect world of mine though, if you were program/server muted and you tried to talk, an audible click or sound would notify the user that they're unable to speak. "Chk..chk" like trying to fire an empty clip/mag. This is so that pilots/whatever know when they've been unlinked and people aren't just ignoring them :)
