I have played for almost 2 days straight now. I even bought Arma 2 and OA again because I lost my first keys a while ago just to play this, since I am a big fan of BF2 :P R.

My first experience is to be as expected in a new mod, alot of people didn't know what they were doing and same for me. I learned alot and there were a few helpful guys that were patient with the noobs. I do have to say, soon as I saw the crate being delivered in a crappy pickup truck and unloaded and dragging the **** around.. I sh*t myself!

There are things that can not be avoided because its part of the Arma 2 engine, like gunning vehicles.. its choppy, laggy, and jumpy. I heard people threatening to quit PR because of it and I tried to explain it is not PR it is Arma 2.

I learned something new every day. I am usually a medic, or mortar gunner. As a medic, I like running Holo scopes. We were on Ironforge (sp?) which is wide open. So I grabbed a scoped medic rifle. When we were clearing houses and compounds, I was complaining I should have switched weapons before we hit the compounds cause It won't be easy to clear using scopes. Someone told me to hit the backslash on the keypad and I sh*t myself again! I don't know if changing sites from scope to iron sights is a feature of PR or Arma 2, if it is a feature of Arma 2... I never knew about it and I have played Arma 2 for a VERY long time!

So all in all, I love PR for Arma 2. It is only going to get better from here since this is gameplay focused. I must admit, I did not think the mod could be much different from Arma 2 gameplay and thought it was just custom models/sounds. I bow to R-Devs.

Backup sights have been in since OA release.

Really? I have played all this time and didn't know that. I thought the Acex mod added that feature when I played UO. Oh well, still nice :P

You should play through the tuts next time :P There's many great features that OA added.

Would be helpfull if well... it worked, I KNOW ITS EARLY BETA, but I joined servers and everyone just lagged about the place... and people kept disconnecting, I got good enough computer and i had like 25 ping.... only played for like 20 mins..... its annoying WAITED SO LONG

For my part I will keep on playing PR BF2 and while doing this I await BF3 with hopeful view :-)

Well a very friendly helpful DEV and I just tore a gaping wound in the side of some Americans Eagle Claw style, Great fun and great teamwork was not only on everyones mind but we actually achieved such gameplay, it was great and easy to adjust to being an ArmA2 player for some time now, finally sinking my teeth into this New addition to the PR Series was well worth the wait and to think it's only Beta.

Has to be combined ops, A2 + A2 :O A installed together. If you have it seperate, there are guides on google you can search for on how to make them CO.

It could have been the server too. I have not experienced any uncommon A2 lag, except last night on one of the TG servers had really bad desync for 30 minutes that required them to lock it down to debug. That happened only once since I played for almost 2-3 days straight except for sleeping.

Having been a long standing PR player on BF2 but never having signed up to the site I've now decided that this release deserves a comment.

Arma 2s connection lag and frame rate issues aside..... this is the first mod that I feel caters for pvp superbly. In its beta form it is still a huge improvement in how the game plays out and I think this is down to the design of the mode so far, but also the type of players that have appeared to play it... many heading over from BF2PR and this has played a part in great squad play for me so far, of course its new and people are not yet spot on with everything it can be slow to get going but everything I like about PR inf combat is basically there already and I find this a huge improvement over anything pvp Arma 2 has yet offered. Also not having to install anything else mod wise is a bonus.

I hope the balancing when releasing more assets remains good.

Thank you for adding value to my Arma 2 purchase for pvp, look forward to ongoing releases.

So we're gonna have the same or even lower ammount of players than in BF2 only with much bigger maps? :/ Thought one of the big atractives of this was huge player count. Don't know why I had that idea, but it made me disappoint.

Arma 2 has never been really stable enough to host more than 60 ish players on a single server, the game was built to be player versus ai, even United Operations kept it 60 or below. It is not PR's fault, but we know how Reality Dev is, I am sure they will attempt to do what they can on their part to make it work with even more players like they are doing with BF2 PR. To me, and I think to everyone else, it was not the attraction of huge player allotment, but the ability to take an already realistic game even further with realism in the PR mod . This is only beta, I was in the beta of BF2 :P R and let me tell you something... it is only going to get better!
