My first experience is to be as expected in a new mod, alot of people didn't know what they were doing and same for me. I learned alot and there were a few helpful guys that were patient with the noobs. I do have to say, soon as I saw the crate being delivered in a crappy pickup truck and unloaded and dragging the **** around.. I sh*t myself!
There are things that can not be avoided because its part of the Arma 2 engine, like gunning vehicles.. its choppy, laggy, and jumpy. I heard people threatening to quit PR because of it and I tried to explain it is not PR it is Arma 2.
I learned something new every day. I am usually a medic, or mortar gunner. As a medic, I like running Holo scopes. We were on Ironforge (sp?) which is wide open. So I grabbed a scoped medic rifle. When we were clearing houses and compounds, I was complaining I should have switched weapons before we hit the compounds cause It won't be easy to clear using scopes. Someone told me to hit the backslash on the keypad and I sh*t myself again! I don't know if changing sites from scope to iron sights is a feature of PR or Arma 2, if it is a feature of Arma 2... I never knew about it and I have played Arma 2 for a VERY long time!
So all in all, I love PR for Arma 2. It is only going to get better from here since this is gameplay focused. I must admit, I did not think the mod could be much different from Arma 2 gameplay and thought it was just custom models/sounds. I bow to R-Devs.
