Kills are tickets, and tickets are important. Tickets win you games. Flags and vehicles are also tickets, so are also important, and will also win you games if correctly managed.

I think PR is not a sim, it still has some very obvious FPS roots and as such I think feedback on the important things, the things that win you games (tickets) is good and necessary information to have in the game.

I agree, having an individual kill counter is completely the wrong emphasis for PR, I disagree that encouraging people to go for kills is a bad thing because as I've said above, kills are are an important part of what will win you a game.

I think the emphasis needs to be switched from the individual to the squad, because squads are more important than single players.
AquaticPenguin wrote:especially since there isn't a great deal of logic with the current point system, anything that'll help make people think more like a squad-member/team member is good imo.
And like you say I think rather than a squad kill counter there should be a squad ticket counter as this again shifts the emphasis from just kills to tickets, something which would help squads to think about a match in terms of what is really important.

100% agree.

if the kill counter is removed then remove the death counter with a counter that shows how much tickets you've lost, but it could be a problem with vehicles if its hardcoded, either way it might help people to not run into bullets as much since even when they get wounded they would get a negative point on the board
There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.

40k is deep like that.

agreed also, though a squad with over 9000 points for building loads of deployables doesn't reflect it either imo

we do need to go back to a simplier score system then move it to a less kill orientated state

Or maybe sit down with the DEV team and give the points a really good thought. Balance them out for the most appropriate outcome (Now bulding is worth far more tickets than killing, so that is unbalanced). Really rethink the points you get, maybe ad some new stuff how to get points.

I dont know how hardcoded the point system is... I believe deducting points for deathis possible, but what i am interested in is, lets say, defending a flag. If enemy takes your flag completely (SO from Blue to Neutral to Red) not only you lose tickets as it is now but points are deducted from the defending team, for example, each player loses 100 points, but those who were in the flag radius or something along those lines lose only 50 points. At the same time, every attacker in the flag radius gets 100 points, the reast of the players get 50 each.

Then when everything is worth its points and reflects what you are doing, you can remove teamwork score, kill and death counter and combine everything in one number wich represents your work done.

IMO this would be the most simple yet effective way, but hard to make. Now as i said, i dont have the slightest idea how much you can do with the score system and how it works in detail, but if some DEV (or CON) can explain me, privately (if possible), what can be done with the score system, i can help out setting the value for each action and maybe have some additional ideas.

Just remove em all. Watching bad KD makes me think "damn, I must get some kills" even if Im playing as insurgent. It sometimes really distracts me from the game. I know they dont really matter but it gets me in bad mood anyway.

I commend your honesty Tarra, I think lots of people feel the same, myself included.

There I finally said it.

ADDITION TO THE SUGGESTION:
on insurgency for blufor you dont get a ticket loss counter (as ins obviously dont have tickets) and instead you get the intel points you got for the team. this would not only be interesting for the people themselves, also it would help the admins finding out people intentionally killing civis, also eliminate potential bugs with the intel system.
ps: if the mods want this to be an extra suggestion, feel free to move it.

No we dont. But if done right it can be a nice addition/tool, maybe even a ranking system...
