Re: Binoculars?
Optics work just as good as binoculars. Most infantry individuals don't have them and mostly it's the leaders that carry them.

Re: Binoculars?
In PN it's kind of a challenge popping up the map every time to identify who are those individuals at the horizon. I personally like it that way.
However, for realistic purposes, I'm pretty sure every soldier have their own binocs.

Re: Binoculars?
We are now currently reviewing the Binoculars situation with our MAs as the advice the PR:ARMA2 team had got hadn't managed to get to us for one reason or another.
We haven't touched on changing our binoculars much since v0.4 or v0.5 when they where first implemented so there is most likely some improvement that can be made there but what ever path we go down, we will ensure to keep PR both fun and as realistic as possible as always
Cheers!

If you need binoculars to get confirmation on an enemy armor, or air asset, then you should really check your eyes....or your screen. Just the sound is enough to pin point those vehicles as grunt fairly accurate.Pvt.LHeureux wrote:But in PN there's no CAS jets, Helis, big assets like BMP-3, big MBTs, etc. I think PR needs to keep the binos, also soldiers just buy their own like it was mentioned earlier.

Agreed. I've learned over some coming 4 years of PR how to differentiate any and every kit at up to around 200m, you can just tell by color of clothing and kit geometries.Brainlaag wrote:If you need binoculars to get confirmation on an enemy armor, or air asset, then you should really check your eyes....or your screen. Many could do without binoculars but considering how easy it is for them to be acquired by soldiers and civilians alike its an unrealistic change to remove them.
