Re: PR Navy?
Well maybe we can have the aircraft carriers stationary like in battlefield 1942 coral sea or midway map, I forgot which one, where each side try to sink each other aircraft carrier. You sink 7 carriers and win the game. Two carrier are spawnable at a time just like the cache is for insurgency. Mortar strikes can be replace with a cruise missile type of system. Each time a carrier is destroy a new one spawns in a different location.
Or maybe there should be a PR version of the battle of Britain using modern aircraft off with ground target as objectives.
Oh wait isn't this whole entire thread suppose to be in the suggestion forum?

flat surfaces for the most part are not too bad, but if you got next to a wall (even on a flat surface) or tried to climb a stair case, you will most likely get killed. Also Ladders don't work on moving vehicles
EDIT: also that isn't a proper vehicle in that video

That's how it was for BF1942, very slippy sliddy.[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:It can be done, though walking on it will always be a little bit glitchy;

Re: PR Navy?
Much. Although looked into it on a very basic level a very, very long time ago and there might be some mini-map and other problems but I can't remember. We didn't look into it very much as there was no need for us to have 100% water maps, without two carriers or some other elements.dtacs wrote:As in bigger than 4km?

Re: PR Navy?
Is there a way to port into BF2 some of the BF1942 models? It would be very interesting to see if we could do an event or a map like AfterDune has done. Of course the idea of cruise missiles is boring, but what about just main guns with WW2 ships?
And I don't really think this should be a suggestions thread, as it was just a question why PR hasn't gone down this road.

Its possible to do yes, but totally illegal...PricelineNegotiator wrote:Is there a way to port into BF2 some of the BF1942 models?
I suggest if you want this kind of gameplay for battlefield 2 you offer your help to the battleships mod I mentioned before in this topic. I know there is still one dev that is trying to get a new build out to work with the latest version of Bf2 but he really needs help in doing so.

Re: PR Navy?
BF42 models are of a horrifically lower quality than BF2, let alone PR. And transporting the models over would break some form of agreement/be illegal in some manner.
Edit: As above.

Amazing how they put so much work into that and then didn't give BF3 joystick support...

Re: PR Navy?
Nope, they only use the Essex in multiplayer again. With crappy F-35B JSFs that can't counter Mig-29s.

Let me google that for youvistamaster01 wrote:Nimitz? What that?
So they put all that work in to something with soo much potential, and threw most of it away? Well done DICE![R-DEV]Spush wrote:Nope, they only use the Essex in multiplayer again. With crappy F-35B JSFs that can't counter Mig-29s.
At least they didn't throw it all away like some things they have in the past

Re: PR Navy?
Well hell they had so many other models, Like the PLR faction with their own tanks and stuff, the MV22 Osprey, two seater F/A-18, and so on that they didn't even bother to add in multiplayer.

Haha, I remember that. You'd be on a ship going full speed while turning, desperately trying to move only to be glued to the railing on one side. Or you'd miss the ladder and fall off.[R-DEV]Spush wrote:That's how it was for BF1942, very slippy sliddy.
